Hey guys..i still dont have my wagon back, but am thinking of buying a boat. Its a 21' bayliner on a galvanized trailor. I am waiting to hear back from the seller on the weight, and am curious if i could tow it with my 83' caprice. It will have a 350 has the 305 or 307 in it now. It has air shocks in the rear and I am having a hidden hitch put on it.

    thanks..

    Here's the horse's mouth. :)

My little Fairmont hauled our two-decker utility trailer with about 3,000 lbs of household boxes on it from Guadalajara, MX to here (3 hours North of Fargo, ND) 2,600 miles). I have a stock tranny fluid cooler. No issues.

I had previously stated that mine was a 3.08:1 but checking my vin says it's a 2.73:1 which is why mine is not "peppy". But, it cruises at 75 without effort.

Yours started out with the 3.8, so maybe that was the stock combo?? That 2.73:1 would be perfect here in the flatland. I think the highest mountain we have is 1,100 ft above sea level, and I'm at 792 ft. It can handle a 300 ft climb. Now the Rockies might be an excersise in futility or water cans, or a pinging-fest. But the specs say the little six with 84 HP, cranked out 152 ft lbs of torque, 12 ft lbs. more than the 134 HP 302 V8. No trouble from MX to here. She was slow on takeoff, but she'd hold her speed.

Looking forward to taking this Six for a run. I'm going to do the Distributor Advance spring swap after a month or so.

Per the vin mine has the 3.3 inline (which I can confirm by sight:D). Although the 3.8 V6 was an option. No V8 in 1982.
