Hi, name is Jairus and I've been a long-roof freak since childhood. Grew up riding around in first a 1958 Country Sedan 2-door and then a 1963 Rambler wagon in baby blue. I am a professional graphic designer and illustrator. I've been published in Hot Rod Mag, Rod & Custom, Custom and Classic Trucks, Automobile, Scale Auto, Model Cars Mag to name just a few. Also have produced art for model car boxs for various model car companies and currently have a line of Hot Rod t-shirts available on-line through a company helped found: Rat Hole Customs.com. Of course the Station Wagon (aka: Depoe Hack, Long Roof) figures in in many of my illustrations and if there were a section for art here... I would post a few. I recently purchased a '58 Ford Ranch Wagon fordor and plan to use that to haul t-shirts to various shows in the Willamette Valley... all the while planning my Hot Rod designs on her beautifully finned virgin sheet-metal. *sigh* Jairus
Welcome Jairus! Boy you've got some talent. Love that 2-door '67 Fairlane rendering. (Wonder why nobody thought of that before....?) That old woodie looks really cool - appears to be a Mercury - correct? I'll probably bump into you at some shows - I'll stop and buy a T-shirt. Marshall
Welcome aboard. Looks like wagons and great artistic talent go together, You aren't the only artist here. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10357&highlight=simpsons
Ah yes, Mark Ervin! I know him from the 'berg', a forum for automotive artists. This site gets cooler by the day.
Hey Jairus, welcome to my best kept secret... Maybe we can get an art forum begun here at some point... You're a good drawer.... I like the bubble top. Don't recall seeing it before tho I seem to remember something similar in Scale Auto... By the way,... I draw cars too...
