I just drove back for California in my 1964 Ford Falcon 2 Door I purchased in Orange County. Drove back on Route 66. Had some over heating issues but what a wonderful trip.

    Driving Slow and No Air!

I am now looking for a 1960 to 1964 Mercury Colony Park.

If anyone knows of a nice one for sale please let me know!

    Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words and thanks for the destructions on loading photos!

The wagon is awesome, we saw some wonderful sights along the way and met some great folks.

We stayed in all of the old MOTELS along the route.

It was like getting into a time machine!

:Welcome:to the wagon train forum. Nice vehicle and great memories. We have been wanting to do the Rt 66 tour ever since all of rt 66 was still there. Only traveled short hops in midwest. Take those trips whenever possible.:yahoo:

Great photos! Looks like they could have been taken in '64.

Glad your car was able to make it back to St Louis. With the heat in the south and midwest right now, it's no wonder you had overheating issues. Anyway, do you plan on going to cruises and shows in St Louis? Maybe I'll see you around if you do. I live in St Charles county and usually take my 66 Ranch Wagon the the cruise at JJs near Lindenwood University, on the 2nd Saturday each month. I also try to get to cruise
at Life Christian Church off Gravois in Sunset Hills, on the 1st Friday on each month.

Also, there was recently a couple early 60s Merc wagons in eBay. They auctions have closed, but I've seen them both listed before, so maybe they'll get listed again. Unfortunately, Mercs come up a lot less frequently than Fords:
