Hey all. My name is Dan. I live in Bremerton Wa, and have a 63 Falcon Long Top that was my first car that I got in 99. My best friend Pat (MrMopar41 on here) bought a 65 Nova wagon locally in December, and that motivated me to start putting my Long Top back together after being off the road and torn apart for 8 years. Pat and I are also the founding members of The Long Toppers Car Club in Bremerton Wa, with hopes of having it up and a solid membership a year from now. I love wagons, and will always have some sort of one!
to the forum. With your wagon and a friend with a wagon, you should be able to have a lot of fun playing with them and driving them. Good luck on your own group. Get some photos in this thread.
I blew the 302 up in it in the height of my demo derby career, and next thing I knew, it was put in the shop, torn down, lost motivation due to demo, then funding went away. Now semi retired in the demo game, and work at Boeing now. Ill finish it up this winter. Project "Bad Bird" will have its injected 5.0 soon and ready to fly again!
Welcome to the forum, Dan. Nice '63 Falcon you have there. I learned to drive in the folks' '63 Falcon Futura sedan....... Looking forward to seeing your 'project' thread. Marshall
kd...nice looking Falcon you got there. Hope you get on the road soon. Getting a car club off the ground must be tough. But for sure you've got two members I didn't know people could have a career demo derbying cars I thought that was something folks just did on the weekend...at a fair or something. Must be a bit of a conundrum for yah...on the one hand you want to get a car club started and on the other hand you smash em up... Well, glad you joined the forum, keep us posted on your resto.
Ha! Well, you are right, its not a "career" persay. We run 10 shows a year here in my town, every 2 weeks April-Sept. And when the team you are on has 5 drivers, that's a lot of cars. Just kinda enjoying something fun before I get too old and the body really hates me! lol I have 3 other guys locally that will be in the club, and 2 in Oregon so far. Once we get it actually up and running, we will have promotional stuff, and hope to get a lot more members! Long Tops Rule!
Current state of Bad Bird. Pretty much just gonna rat it out. Its got gallons of filler in it, and the drivers side is now bare metal. It gonna take a lot of time to make it straight again. Maybe next summer it will get some body work done.
Dan from a fellow Falcon junkie my 63 is need of some luvin too...but then...so are the rest dude...if and when you get the club rollin...i wanna shirt and you must know the Wagons of Steel kids...they'r in your hood
