..here's a tryout for us, lacing the roof in a spiderweb design, then topping it of with flakes and munchos clear coat.
    here's some pics..
started of with a complete flat-black surface, laid down the spiderweb fabric and sprayed over it with gunmetal grey .[IMG],

after this part was done, we learned our first lesson..( pull of the fabric a.s.a.p. 'cause it sticks when the paint dries, and leaves strange spots )
[IMG]We decided to leave it as it was and sprayed the first clear-coat with the flakes already inside..:camera:

not to bad i guess, and hope it will smooth out as we apply more clear-coat..

:)notice that from a little distance it fades to black again....i like it :thumbs2:

After the roof was done, i decided to give her some scallops in the same gunmetal grey as the roof was done..(without the flakes here)

Next on the program is to pinstripe the scallops and the patch on the roof with some turquoise one-shot outlines.....
    w'll post soon..

That's one slick trick! I'll bet you could do that with other lacey synthetics on door panels, to restore wood grain textures or leather textures. Heck of a DIY post! Thanks for sparking up my imagineering! (y)

..this wagon is not quiet finished yet, but still under construction……last couple of days being busy, picking up my new dual exhaust with 'Raptor" mufflers, installed the complete thing, modified it were needed and removed the complete exhaust again in preparation for the underbody coating.

[IMG]Finished that part, this morning (what a mess a guy can make doing this:rednose:) Good sh*t, that under coating…….can only be removed with fuel, so you all know what my aftershave is for the rest of the day...:yahoo: LOL
Can't make it to the grease-pit tomorrow, but friday we are going at it again…coating should be dry, so we can install the exhaust again and then start to connect the bellflower-tips on it.
Still waiting for the new headlights to come in and then there some other bits and pieces to do before i can take down to get my new Dutch DMV registration, so my wife can drive legal for the next 2 years…
I'm gonna fix up the "new" '64 wagon for me to cruise in…..:thumbs2:

(y)thx, this is what we call low budget kustomizing….and thanks to other guys posting this kind of stuff on the internet so we can (almost)all do this ourselves.
Thinkin' about the same lace-trick on my wife's Sportster, but with a gunmetal base and then spraying the lace with flat-black, but no worries i'll post that to:clap:

next pic is the hood scope before the flat-black paint, it's done now and sitting at my house waiting for some sweet pinstriping….[IMG]
