I bought one, I bought one! <----excited

After a WEEK of exhaustive looking, I finally found the perfect wagon. Perfect for me; my husband was shaking his head asking if I was SURE this was the one I wanted to get, and even though it's totally not his style, he's happy that I'm so excited about it and helping me do all the work.

It's a '77 Impala. I spent all day yesterday giving it the wash and wax, and cleaning the interior (and replacing the front speakers, and fixing the driver's window so it'll roll up and down, and...).

It was in the same family from purchase to me - I'm the 3rd owner. Lady bought it and owned it until her Alzheimer's started getting bad enough that her adult son asked her to transfer the title to his name. It has 91,500 original miles and looks and handles like that's completely accurate. Body is straight, only a handful of tiny dings. Paint is good, and only missing one piece of trim. Vinyl seats, all are in excellent shape (no tears/cracks, one small snag on rear of driver's seat.

I don't know how to post pictures in this post, so stay tuned for pictures to come!! It's tan/red with red pinstripes.

And oh my God I forgot how much I missed this engine. My last car was a '91 Volvo 240 sedan with a 4 cyl in it - weak. This purrs like a mountain lion, peels out around corners, and just wants to go! Sooo much better. And bigger.

And it has air ride suspension and a hitch. Sweet.
