That's horrible! However, you can be grateful that you or nobody else was squashed by the tree. Do you have comprehensive on the car? Is it your tree or do you rent?

Oh dude that's awful. I think that we all here can agree it hurts to see them go, and the way they go sometimes just makes it that much harder. Good luck on finding a new one for ya, there is always another member of the family waiting to be discovered. It won't be the same but it will be family.

Holy Cow!!! I've seen that wagon that's on the Asheville NC Craigslist. I saw it driving down US 74A about a month ago. It was traveling in my direction (5 lane highway) so I got a pretty good peep as it passed me. I wished I had been driving my 73 Ford that day ,it would have made a cool picture....I could call and go out and check it out if you would like...

No phone# on the ad, if I was trying to sell something I would put my phone# in the ad. Maybe that's just me.....

Sad news indeed. If you can sell the good wood from the tree, maybe it can be seed money for your replacement? I've lost a couple cars through collisions where the cars weren't occupied. In good parts of town, at the hands of careless drivers. It is very
tough to get over but something we deal with.
Chin up and, looking on the bright side,... you have an excuse to go wagon shopping!
Maybe your true dream boat is waiting out there for you?

    Mark,

How right you are! No matter how bad we might feel about the loss of a car or other possession that we may have lost or had damaged, life and limb are so much more important. When my daughters didn't see me go off on a rant they ask me why I didn't get upset. My 13 year old said she expected me to cry. Anyway, I told them that it is what it is. Sure I was aggravated that it happened and that yes it is one of the most favorite cars that I had ever owned but that it was just a car. It was not in a traffic accident while we were in it and no one was around the car or in it when the tree fell. So, I thank God that the only thing that was damaged out of the whole incident was a car that one day will rust away. All possessions are like this and if we keep the right perspective everything will be fine.

Yes, I took pictures for the insurance company as I had to move the car out of the weather. I will post them later this week. All I can say is stay away from trees.

:( That is incredible...the timing...the tree could have fell before you got home or after you left. Could have fell while you were in the car...or heaven forbid on someone elses car. Amazing!

We had a hurricane blow through a few years back...5 cars in one driveway, none in the other...and that's where the tree fell, in the empty driveway! We hadn't planned to put all the cars in one driveway that's just the way it worked out. They weren't even calling for a hurrican, just a little wind and rain...

Twday, that is such a shame and I feel really sorry for you. You obviously took great care of it; has to be heartbreaking for sure. Go out and get another one right away, hey that should be fun and pick your spirits up a bit.
    Good luck.

A friend of mine suggested making the wagon into a four door Ranchero. What do you think?
