just got my hands on a 1968 chrysler town & country 9 passenger it has a 440 4 barrel about to start some major surgery and transform her into a cross of modern and classic styling and probably running full air ride , all the brightwork coming off and new seats for the interior first
Welcome aboard from another Mopar wagon owner. What wheels are you putting on your T&C? The 68 looks great with chrome Magnum rims. See the 9th post in the following thread to see for yourself. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7077
to the wagon train, chalky. Give is pix as you do the work on your wagon. We love before, during and after pix!
Welcome Chalky.... I like it that you're starting on the inside. I guess there is a reason to start on the outside, but I've seen a lot of restorations get stalled after the new paint goes on........ Post up some pics. Better yet, start a 'Project' thread in our Project section....
here are the first 4 pictures that tree hadnt started to grow when they parked the wagon behind the house
Well cant believe how lucky I am its been sitting for at least 10 years but with a little beating on the front brakes they were loose and she started and drove out from the back yard , now the transformation starts
Dont know the history I got it from a friend who was going to use it to transplant the engine and transmission into a dart but that never got done so she stayed as a garden ornament for over 10 years , my first bit of good luck for ages , been wanting to rebuild something from 1968 when I was born for the longest time and it just happens to be a great big boat , fantastic !!!!
Since you're not going back "stock" anyway, I think you should find a 68 300 in a salvage yard and put the entire 300 front end on the wagon, including the sharper fenders, pointed hood, hidden headlight grille, and front bumper.
