So..getting the metal work finished..lots of fun! The caddy lights will be recessed with a lip on the outside and also a hidden hitch behind the liscense plate area which will be recessed. He should have it done by the end of the week and I can get started on the bodywork...i attached a little sketch of the final product scheme too:)

Good! Glad you like it. It's all yours, cause your good work inspired it.

Looking forward to that how-to. I've never seen it done, only as a finished product. :bouncy:

How are those biceps now? Takes about 4 days to get passed it. :)

A few questions. Are you doing all the body work yourself?

On the side glass was the steel panel cut a little larger to fit over where the glass use to be?

I noticed that you shaved the handle and key switch off the tailgate how do you plan to open it? I want to do the same since I have had someone trying to break into the back of my wagon.

Are you going to put a rear bumper back on?

What will be your front end treatment?

    re

    hey

well the rear glass metal was cut exact..it has inner framework on the inside to support it. It has a slight curvature which made it tricky..same with filling in the rear taillights and there's a slight curve on the rear rollpan. No bumper...rollpan.

Yes I'm doing all the bodywork myself..i do custom paint..www.hotshotautobody.com

For the rear gate I'll lose the abillity to roll the rear window down with the key, but will use the switch up front..the inner handle still opens it like a tailgate, and i will use a custom made bracket to put an actuator to open the gate sideways. That part im not doing myself im not much into electricals or fabricating stuff..im having someone else do it.

Front end treatment..for now pretty stock except for smoking the turn signals...then im having him do a custom front end with integrated bumper smoothed out with turn signals recessed and billet grill. if ya have any more questions feel free...
