I need rear bumper for 1970 Chevy Kingswood. Does anybody know what other years had the same bumper?

    Thanks.

Certainly nothing from 1971 or later because the GM full-size wagons changed dramatically between '70 and '71-'76 with the '71-'76's being the era of the clamshells. Along with the rear ends, the front ends those years were also completely redesigned over the earlier years.

In looking at the '69's versus the '70's, you've probably got no hope there, either. The '69's featured a front bumper that wrapped up and around the grille and headlights while the '70s had the more traditional single bar below-the-headlights look.

The '68's are similar to the '69's, so they wouldn't help, either. All of the full-size GM cars through the 60s saw subtle changes from year to year in front and rear end design when you look at them side by side, and it's pretty common that bumpers and body sheet metal were unique to a particular year. Things like trunk lids might interchange over a few years, so it's not impossible. But I think that, in your case, if your '70 needs a bumper, it will have to come from another '70.

Jaunty, he's asking about the rear, not the front.

In checking '69 / '70 big Chevy wagons on google images, it looks to me like the rear bumpers are the same, but hard to be sure just looking at a photo.

You might want to check with an auto dismantler that stocks older parts. They usually have 'parts interchange' books that have this information.

Oops! You're right. In looking at some photos of the rears of a '69 and a '70, they do look very similar.

    Here's a '70 Kingswood

    And here's a '69

The only difference I see is the reflector in the bumper at each end on the '70 that are not there on the '69. However, that probably doesn't affect whether or not the '69 bumper will bolt right up to the '70. It looks like it would.

Thanks for replies. I did call one junkyard that has 69 bumper in stock and according to their system the bumpers are the same for 69 and 70. There is the difference in the reflectors but I can live without them as it is not easy to find wagon bumpers to begin with.

    Don't forget about the rear step cut-out if you've got a 9-passenger. A 6-passenger wagon bumper won't have that.

Actually, 6-passenger wagons also had the step cut-out. My wagon is 6-passenger and has one.
