I recently became the second owner of a 1976 Buick Estate Wagon. Stored for 30 years in a barn, no rust, all original. 77k miles.

I've got a clamshell, but it's an Olds ('73). Please post some photos of yours!

My guess is that they just got used up like most station wagons. You're right in that I've been to many Oldsmobile car shows over the last 20 years, and I've never, ever seen a Custom Cruiser of any year. Vista Cruisers, yes, and the occasional wagon from the '50s or early '60s, but that's it.

I've been told they make great demolition derby cars, which breaks my heart just to think about.

Part of the reason they aren't around. They were either worked in the ground or the ones that survived people bought cheap and used for demo derby.Let's face it wagons are still cheap to pick up compared to other collectibles. The last few years the older one's have started getting higher prices but mid '70's to late '80's are relativly cheap in my opinion and haven't gained the respect they deserve except here!
