Hey guys! Glad i found your Forum! I own a 1967 Mercury Villager with a 289. The car currently has 65,000 original miles on it. All original paint, original interior, original wood vynil, original everything! The cars name is Bluey. I also own another 67 Mercury Villager for a parts car for my pride and joy Bluey. I am currently 21 but the car has been in my family since 1967. I remember growing up and going on rides with my Grandpa in Bluey, that was the first thing I wanted to do when i would get to his house, "Go ride in Bluey." When he passed he gave the car to my father, my father then passed in 2008, I have had the pleasure of owing Blue since. I have calendars from when my Grandpa was around with cleaning schedules for Bluey. He would wax the left side on Mondays, the right side on Tuesdays, the hood on Wednesdays, the top of the car on Thursdays, and the rear end of the car on Fridays and we would go for a drive on Saturday and Sunday, then the cycle would start all over again. I have seen my Sister get married in Bluey, and I plan to have Bluey in my wedding, and plan on handing Bluey down to my children, and hopefully their children. This baby is my pride and joy! I will be posting pics very soon and I will talk more about the car later, I am also trying to find any information on 1967 Mercury Villagers, my understanding is that its a rare car, I own the only two in the state of Idaho that I know of. And if you have any information to share please do! I look forward to hearing from all of you! I also posted some new pics in a comment below! Make it a great day! New Wagon Guy in Idaho
I love it when a car stays in the family. The question I have is to you comply with Grandpa's schedule?
to the wagon train, vill. It's great when wagons stay in the family! It makes your wagon even more special. Sounds like it should be in good shape....post up some pix of old blue when you can. EDIT: Yes, it appears that that Comet wagon is rare with only 3,140 being built in 1967. This link comes from a site called Mercury Stuff. You can get to the home page by clicking at the bottom of the link page where indicated. http://www.mercurystuff.com/1967-models/index.html
