What ever you learn new about wagons just put it in "America's coolest station wagons 2." Then we can have another lottery drawing for it. :rofl2::thumbs2:

Thanks Fannie. Actually, Page 4 was written in a Juarez jail cell (long story) and the photo on Page 6 was shot the night before that. I can't say where I got my info from, but I can say it's all painfully possible!

Your free autographed book is in the mail and yes, this is the perfect Mother's Day gift! Also appropriate for May Day, the 5th of July and all other required holidays. Enjoy...

Teej, that's my fault - I dropped the ball on promoting CarTech's direct sales. First lesson learned...

And don't worry about it being old news: I finished writing it almost a year ago, so everyone will be getting the same old news as you! See? It all worked out just fine...

By the way, there's lots of Pontiac content in the book - I think you'll dig it.

1Tire: I'm not much on sequels, but I'd be just fine with doing Parts 2, 3 and 4, if sales warrant it. We had so much stuff, we had to throw out two entire chapters - we just ran out of room!

Builder: Please check it out. But I must warn you: We only had one '57 Delivery lined up and that guy couldn't make the deadline. Maybe yours will be in the next one...

Thanks Glenn! I have a set of crusty steelies on bald tires and even a spare - I'll trade you straight across. You can thank me later. But man, you owe me, big time: my rolling stock has a lot of sentimental value and is genuine GM - not that cheap aftermarket crap you're pawning off on me.

:rofl2: ....... you won't find a finer race wheel than a Bogart, they may be worth more than your Wagon :29:
But, I will not need them anymore if I convert totally to the street :1st:

Well, my wagon was given to me (by a car lot!), so the Bogarts may be worth more. Regardless, I'd run 'em, just 'cause that's how I roll (so to speak).

My wagon's been my daily driver for 15 years now, but I'm planning to run brackets with it this year, just to sharpen up my tree skills, now that my fast cars are gone. My target has changed from 9.90s to mid 15s. Ha!

Jangleguy....If you want to hear the story of the car I will tell you here.

My brother and I were going to Texas to bring back a 1959 Fleetside PU. Before we left town, we gassed up the truck. We were bringing down a 4 door 57 chevy parts car I dragged out of a grove. A man aproached us and asked if we knew anyone who wanted a 1957 wagon he had for sale. He happened to have a quanset accross the road from the station, so, even though we were already getting a late start, we went to take a look. About a month or two after we got back, I ran accross the card that the man gave me. I gave him a call.
This 1957 Chevrolet 150 Series 2 door wagon is 1 of 92 built. It was special ordered for Northwestern Bell Telephone. The person who owns it claims to be the second owner (as well as the fourth) and states that he watched the Northwestern Bell Telephone personnel buff off their logo off the doors.
My research has led me to believe the originality of this car. I found that many were ordered for government use for the Forest Service and maybe the Armed services as well. One of the California Chevy club members wrote about these cars. He claimed to only see pictures of them, and his claim is that they are actually Sedan Delivery cars with side windows added at the factory for special orders only. There are rumors of a handful of them being made with side windows only on the passenger side made for the Forest Service so they could watch for fires while driving. (I fail to see that logic.)
He then put a big block in it and raced it a few seasons. He claims to have made a record with it that stood for 9-8 years. I'm sure it was a gas class and happened in the middle 60's.
I brought the car home and cleaned out the years of debrise and sorted out all the parts. The rear window trim was removed, but was all acounted for as well as the hood spears. I had some old rims that I had laying around and cleaned the rust off of them and put on some tires that would hold air. One of the rims cracked when I put it on because of the rivets holding on the front hubs. Dough!:slap:
I parked it outside for about a week, and someone stole the rims and tires.
They used a rim I had in the back of the car to prop the car up on while they stole the rims and tires. They left behind all the trim parts inside the boxes I had sorted out.
I quickly placed the car out of site and secured it. Someone always has to mess with ya because they can't get it on their own.:cussing:
    Punks!

That's the story. Short and sweet.

Slower street cars are the ones that we will have the best memories of and the most fun.... I know this for certain.
It's all about the 'Fun Factor' !

Builder: Great story! Killer car, too. We have a '56 150 in the book that was a Forest Service wagon. Now it's a Ridler contending street/show car. It's so encouraging to know they're still out there. Thanks for sharing your story with us (even though I edited it a tiny bit here)!

True dat! Although I had a blast with my 'fast cars', too. It was purely dumb luck that allowed me to go that fast on my budget. Running the wagon will be much more realistic and just as much fun...

And Glenn - I'll gladly sign a book for you, if you really want one.
