Hi, I was directed to the wagon forum by a member of the PCS forum. I recently posted our station wagon for sale there and was told I would be better off posting it for sale here. So thats what I am up to. Just here to sell a vehicle. My time is already quite limited because of all my responsibilities to my family. I learned how to use a computer in 2006 so I am not really skilled at the button pushing. So thats, that, about that!

You need 5 posts to be able to post your car for sale in the for sale section, hub. One of our rules. A couple more posts and you are home free. After your 5th post it takes a little while (not long) to kick in so be patient. Meanwhile....what do you have for sale? Tell us a little about you and your car.:D

Silver Fox, I am assuming that you might be a forum administrator, Thank You for the personal touch coaching me along! About me and the Buick, here it goes. The Buick was purchased in 1998 and has never seen a winter in MN since until our winter beater broke down two months ago. The wagon was just to nice to do something like that to it. Instead what I did just after purchase was to detail it out and repair all that was needed. I wanted the Buick wagon because it most closely fit my passion for funeral coach's and I felt comfortable my credit union would be more likely to give me a loan for a wagon over a hearse. Always in the back of my heart's desires I knew someday I would own another coach after owning a 59 Cadillac Eureka coach built hearse in High School. My wife and I are senior and she is not comfortable going from a Corolla to a wagon, it appears to me that the length of the wagon makes her uncomfortable with judging where the back corners of the wagon are, so it has to go. I have hereditary back problems and finally got to the point where I could no longer perform the duties of boiler engineering which typically goes hand in hand with building maintenance. Finally my back prevented me from staying in that type of work. Now I am retired, take care of my elderly parents so they can avoid their biggest fear and that is going into a nursing home and stay in their own home. The wagon is beautiful and I am going to scrutinize who buys it. Since we bought the wagon it has been 15 years since I have seen another equally as clean. The wagon I saw was all white and as I remember it was not a limited but still quite nice enough to remember and tempting to leave my phone number on it.

Nice intro and Cudos to you for thinking about mom and dad:2_thumbs_up_-_anima. been there done that with my Mom, you sound like a dam good man:yup:. As for your back... If your not full of new metal and used parts from the bone bank (like me) I'm not interested:rofl2:...just kidding:tiphat: Age does do things to us, My honey used to drive anything I had in the drive way any where. She will still back out/move my full size cargo van with no windows no problem but won't drive let alone sit, in the drivers seat of the wagons we have now because as she says "woried about hitting something"...yet she choses to drives daily a GMC Saffari mini van:confused:. I hope all goes well with your sale, but I also hope you post pictures of the wagon, pics say alot!

Ok, You all have been very nice to me and I am not used to it. Typically people treat me like **** until they get to know me, and then they are all over me. I am a forum member over at the PCS (Professional Car Society) also and some of the things I have been through there I can not discuss, because of how bizarre, you just would not believe it anyway. Please do not misconstrue my comments in regards to PCS but I am very honest and you just can't be that way these days. I am the kind of person that questions all authority because most authority's got there not by hard work, merit, but by brown nosing or who you know and what you know, and /or how much money you got or how many cars you have, at times it comes down to simply, a popularity contest as well. So some types of folks in my opinion, think they got it over others, so I just have to learn to stay in the background and maintain my minion status. I do not mind being a nobody for the sake of every body else around me, being able to posture so they can keep puffed up and feeling good about themselves. Enough about my feelings nobody cares anyways. You want to see pictures of our wagon. Here you go.

Dear Mr. Fox, I know that the forum has criteria in regards to postings, one of which is the 5 post rule that I am aware of. So my hopes are that I am not in violation of rules by answering questions in this area for the moment, before I get a formal listing put up in the classifieds. The Buick is a 1990, it has a 3300 engine, in 2003 the car was appraised at $5,500 by a license appraiser here in Minneapolis, the car had 99,000 at the time and now the car has 110,000 sorry for calling it a car for all who are purists to the degree that you may be sitting saying to yourselves why is he calling it a car instead of a station wagon. I have decided to give a start price for negotiating offers from folks at $4,500.00 or best offer. The seats are near mint or a 9 in my perspective. I keep a file on all my cars with all receipts from everyhting I do on any cars I own. Since it was purchased I have done the following. Re-upholstered drivers seat cushion with original matching fabric no sign of use on any of the seats. Minor scuffs to the side panels in the rear load area only. The interior has a couple issues, the headliner fell down from storage for so many years without being in a climate controlled garage. I could never see putting a heater in my garage. The carpet needs to be shampooed. A couple of blades are missing from the front windshield defroster vent deflector grills. I get the impression at some point the original owner dropped something down there and broke the blades possibly to fetch whatever was dropped in between the blades. I have two sets of floor mats carpetted for dry season and rubberized for wet climate. The interior is so nice I don't even mind the headliner being messed up. Moving on, the factory radio was replaced because the casette player did not work and the era turned to cd discs. Alpine stereo was installed professionally, still has original speakers. Sounds just fine to me. Receipts and manual for the Alpine in the receipt folio. Windshield was replaced. Paint finish with Zymol show car wax. Paint finish looks cloisoned just to unreal of a paint finish to describe, I saw a guy waxing a Ferrari one time and stopped to ask him why it did not look as good as the finish on the wagon and ended up teaching the man how to do the job. Likely got 40 hours in the finish done by hand and machine. Thats what catches everyones eye and causes the attraction to the wagon. New tires. New wheel covers. New body side door guard mouldings. New shocks. Radiator was recored and boiled out and coolant system flush and new thermostat. New plugs. New air filter. Dynamometer tuned. Transmission filter and fluid service. Oil changes every 2500 miles Castrol GTX only always use NAPA gold oil filters even though receipts say NAPA silver. New muffler. New serpentine belt. Front gas stuts. Front end alignment. New water pump. New hood strut. Rust proofed. New battery. NEEEDS: Headliner, plastic cap on rear bumper corner is scratched on driver side. A/C system needs upgrade to R-134 and possibly a/c compressor. Under the hood the latch area has some rust. Small dent on drivers side roof near roof rack rail. If I have forgotten anything I will add supplements. The pictures were taken with a film camera and digital pics would really floor you once I take them for a buyer. Generally to nice to drive daily and entered on may 1st in the (Spring Fling) car show in Minnesota at the Minnesota State Fair grounds. Sponsored by Gopher state chapter of Buick Club of America. I am a second owner. Original owners name in the owners manual. To the forum administrator, if I am in violation providing this information here please move this post to the appropriate forum. Thank You!

Au contraire on the picture posting, Hub. When people join here without pix we bug them until they post some.:yup: We want to see pix of everyone's wagon. And if they are restoring it...we want to see it before, during and after all the work. Your pix are appreciated.:D The more info the more we like it. Generally, we have very few rules...the 5 post rule is only so we can get to know people before they just pop in and post a car for sale. We are sort of a close knit family here.
You brought up an interesting point. For me, anyway. I have been looking for a detailer that uses Zaino products but can't find one. Ultima products would be a second choice. I have heard of Zymol and know some detailer's in other states that have switched from Zymol to Zaino. Just wondered if you have heard of it. I am having trouble finding a good professional show finish detailer here in Wisconsin.
I wish you luck with your sale, Hub. I think you are shooting way high but I only base my opinion on other Century's up to 96 that I see for sale. I wouldn't mind having one for a daily driver (DD) so I have been looking. But, they are my second choice.

I have to side with Fox regaurding your asking price though. I still see alot of these wagons where I am, 1 lives (for years) just around the corner from me and is mint. They don't normally fetch a high price but then you never know....

I really do like the looks of those wagons, if only they were rear wheel drive....but thats just me;)
