I have been seeing a 1990 Country Squire at a local dealer lot for days now and had been tempted to phone about it. Its in MINT condition. I was browsing through the local newspaper today and seen it listed.. I know its the same car, because its the dealers #. It says its a 1990 Country Squire- 1-owner, garage kept, 44K ACTUAL MILES.... $3995. Well worth it in my opinion. Had I just not bought my Lexus for exactly $4000, I would have highly considered this wagon. Its like a tan color with woodgrain... woodgrain is mint as well.

Whats ironic is that less than a mile away, there sets a dark blue 1986 Colony Park wagon that has been setting idle for years. I do not know whats wrong with it, but I think they bought it new... perhaps the people took ill, because they have two other Mercury Marquis sedans that have not been driven in awhile either. One day I may inquire about the wagon (like I have room for it... lol), because up the road from there was a rough but restorable green 1973 Country Squire that I thought they would never sell, but it suddenly vanished one day. :( Wish I had of checked on it.

the panther cars have few little cheap issues that cause big problems. Usually the little plastic bushing on the trans cable goes and takes out the trans....

It's amazing how much 20 year old wagons are going for....espeically at dealers....

 I never knew that about the transmissions! Thanks for that info though!

I wish my "20 year old wagon" (89 Grand Safari) was going for something. Cannot even give it away, which is what I think $1000 is for a 100% rust free and rare wagon.

yeah a few cent plastic bushing will cause a $1500 trans repair.

I learned the hard way about 10 years ago.

I've tried selling my 89 voyager for 100 bucks and it has a new motor and some other parts. Haven't had one call or email about it.

I bought my wagon 2 years ago for 1100 and it was in pretty good shape. It's been repainted a time or two. Just wish I could have paid less. I miss my 500 dollar cars.

Here's your problem. You are not asking enough. If you'll take a thousand ask $2500. I sold my VW after months of asking $1500. I raised the price to $2100 and the fellow that bought it was happy to get it for $1600. I was happy too.

Now for that Voyager. $100 isn't enough. Start at $800.(y)

Sure - its called "Joes Used Cars"... phone # is 276-669-2088.

Whats strange is that the car and the lot is in Tennessee, but it has a Virginia phone number, which is less than .5 miles away, but still strange. Maybe he has that # special ordered or something?

It was still there today, setting in its glory. It really is a beautiful car. Good luck!

Well, I drive by the Squire daily and even today it was still there. Unfortunately my camera batteries have decided to go out and I cannot take photos.

Just picture a 90' Country Squire still in the showroom in the year 1990. Its that nice.

    90 vic

I got pics ,, from the Car lot..
but cant get them to post,,I sent them to a senior member maybe he can post... The pics show VERY good, like Kingswood says, the only thing I saw was the r/r marker light was torn off and the trim around the grain was marrred too, all easily fixable,, well worth the money. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

    90 Country Squire

Wow that sounds so sweet. I had a couple of Panthers. 91 Crown Vic LX with every option including the rare Insta Clear Winshield. White w/beige leather int. and 15k on the clock when I got it. 90 Grand Marquis LS but not highly optioned. Wish I still had the 91 Crown Vic. Never had a Ford wagon though. So far, 86 Olds Custom Cruiser, 95 Mercury Tracer (technically a Ford), 96 Buick Roadmaster Estate Limited. Get some batteries for God sake!

Sounds good! If you want to email me the photos, I will try to post them. I have never seen the passenger side... the car is beside the building along the road and the passenger side of the car is against the building. Looked very nice from what all I could see though. I will try to get some photos of it if I can find some camera batteries for my camera.
