Nobody yet seems interested, so I'm turning to my station wagon buddies. I just scored two rust free quarter panels for my '66 Belvedere II wagon (soon to become a Belvedere I wagon, no side molding, no trim around the windows). Probably only need the passenger quarter, but decided to go after both. As most of us know, these parts are not easy to find, and I am pysched, siked, and cyked! For some reason, my family, and even my car buddies, are kinda "whatever". So how about it, I'm looking for some wagon guys to give me a WooHooHotDiggidyDog :29:

Great find!! Probably about the last decent quarters out there to be found. Congrats on the score!! Any tailgates where the quarters came from??
I know the feeling. Back in the 80's, before reproduction sheet metal was available for muscle cars, I scored an NOS quarter panel for my 68 Barracuda. I found it leaning against a tree in a salvage yard and paid a whole $80 for it. Still have the car with that quarter installed on it.

Now we're getting somewhere! Thanks Jim and Fannie. These quarters came off a complete 67 wagon that he cut up for parts (aaarrrrgghhhh). Now to me, if the quarters on a car are solid, the car is likely worth saving. Anyhow, it worked out for me, so I'm stoked.

Jim, my tailgate is solid, but I knew you were looking for a tailgate, so I asked the guy about the tailgate off this car that he had cut up, and he said he was going to check to see if he still had it. He seemed to remember the tailgate as rusty, not worth saving, but he would let me know. As soon as I find out anything, I'll contact you.

    QUUUUAAAAARRRRRRRTTTTTERRRRRRRSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! Yeee Haaaa!!!

When I find odd parts for my 72 Olds wagon that is more common than your Bel I get all happy.
I can imagine how it feels to find good parts for a more obscure wagon. Congrats!!

Thanks again guys, the crazy thing about these quarters is that I knew about them last summer, but I had just purchased the wagon, and was not ready to go out and buy a bunch of parts. I was also doing my 383 Stocker race motor, so I had to pass on the quarters. I finally had some caaeessshhh (Chicago accent), and figured I'd give the guy a call, and he still had the parts ten months later. I believe there was some kind of light rear hit on my 66 Belvedere II wagon, the passenger quarter was replaced, and not installed properly. To my eye, the body line from the rear passenger door going into the quarter is not right. I anticipate stripping the car, but I want to be ready to fix the quarter, and needed to have one on hand. Figuring that AMD is not going to tool up for my wagon anytime this century, I had to hunt these parts down online or swap meets. Really speaks to the reality of why so many cool wagons are never restored, finding sheetmetal can be a nightmare. Can you imagine how many factory four speed wagons were scrapped because no one cared, or if they did, knew that finding sheetmetal would be virtually impossible? I'm guessing a bunch of guys on this board are waiting around for some used, obscure part to show up on ebay or craigslist. All I can say is happy hunting, the find is pretty cool.

When you do the restoration, don't forget to use labled bags for every screrw and bolt and every part. It's the difeerence between a fun restore and a nightmare.:thumbs2:

I know the feeling and look all to well from my friends and family, also some car guys, when I score something I have been hunting for or some obscure part for my LTD wagon. I seem to get the "what the heck. It's just a wagon" look when I tell them about my excitement.

I do get a lot of positive support from my g/f. It took awhile for the car bug to grow on her, but after a few swap meets and car shows, shes getting the bigger picture of my passion for the hobby.

There's not many things in life that you can count on, but I now know at least one thing, that if I need a woohoohotdiggedydog after I score some wagon parts, I'll get it here!

Thanks guys, I'll keep you posted on progress!
