Great news. Not only will those cars and trucks be saved, someone probably realized that they will probably make more money that way too. As well as having less environmental problems to boot, if they had plans to crush on site. ...way to go!

Great news indeed! Been looking at the pictures, that place is a real treasure trove. And not just for 'Americana', there's even an NSU Prinz, a Lancia Beta and a Hillman Imp. Those are rare finds even here in Europe!

Good stuff, I'll drink to that :beerchug:

We get $500 per car here for scrap and the Chicoms cant get enough so I would wonder if a scrap company or two hasn't got an eye on it all .It would represent a lot of easy cash and all in one place. Simply crush it on site and shred the cubes later to seperate the metals.

At the risk of sounding flaky... but let's hope passion triumphs over (reasonably) quick cash in this case.

The cutie is the NSU Prinz. Powered by a 2-cylinder engine in the back :)

I like the Wolfrace wheels on the Chevy, I love those rims. My dad had those rims on a black Talbot Horizon (I think that's a Dodge over in the US) back in the eighties. Along with extra's like a front air dam, pinstriping and those kind of options it made the car look very good. Made a lasting impression on his kid!

The "thing" is a SIATA Spring build in the late 60's. It used the frame, rear engine and gearbox from the FIAT 850.
SIATA stands for "Società Italiana Applicazioni Tecniche Auto-Aviatorie"

The chevy looks a bit out of proportion . I am guessing , but I would put money on there being as chevy S10 pick up chassis under there . The top chop would have taken a lot of work because these still had wooden frames in the body structure.
The Siata are highly collectible in Europe and are similar to the fiat Gamine noddy car.

Spare wheel holder + the tail light on the blue one are not original.

Texas?, no kidding WTF:biglaugh:. I moved to my little island in 82, it was still very British at the time. We had in black these little tank london cabs still bombing around...mind you we also still had the black iron lung old British double deckers also......till one failed on a steap mountain ski resort and ....you know the rest
