Very cool wagon. That is really cool that you were able to get it back especially in this day and age. There are a lot of really cool cars in WI & great people to go with them!

You guys have the best breakfasts up there of anywhere I have ever been. Don't take a shower at the Bong Recreation Area though.

Thanks so much for these recent comments,,It means a lot to me to see that so many of you have taken the time to read my posts, and look at my photos. I'm inspired to rejoin the Oldsmobile Club of America and actually write the full detailed story to be published in Journey With Olds magazine, and submit it to old Cars Weekly as well. Maybe I'll make "Car of The Week" there. I did write the story of the restoration of my 1971 Cutlass and got it printed in the September 1995 edition of Journey With Olds. It's a fun read, so if anyone out there has a copy of it,,you'll enjoy reading it. I just uploaded some more photos with captions to my photo album in my profile on ClassicOldsmobile.com I started posting there where I first saw my Vista in the cars for sale section..I nearly S*#T myself when I saw it advertised for sale there! Also,,thanks for the cool comments on my home state of Wisconsin. It really is a great place to live,, and everything that's made here, I believe, is really just better. I realized that when I moved to Florida 20 years ago,,,it's so great to be back home again.......

Yep, you guys will remember that I posted a thread on which car to keep and which to sell a while back when I found the '58 Pontiac I wanted. It was sell my Tempest or my Vista. I truly loved both of them so it was almost impossible for me to make a decision. I had actually turned down some offers on the Tempest because I didn't think that they were the 'right' person for the car. Sounds silly, but I really like to know that the cars will go to someone who will appreciate them...

But when DrCutlass posted that it used to be his car...How could I resist? I knew it couldn't go to a better home. Although I also knew that my odds of buying it back would be slim to none. (I still get first shot at it, right?) Yeah, like that is going to happen... Maybe he'll will it to me if they won't let him be buried in it! But seriously, I miss the car terribly, but am thrilled it found it's way home.

kolby66...So you're wife is from Appleton?,,,that's cool. There is one rather big cruise night event scheduled for Appleton this summer,,,and it's on the same day as the Pierce Park car show,,July 17th, 2011. I'm planning on showing the wagon at that show this year, as it "should" be ready for a more serious showing by then. The cruise starts from Fox Valley Tech about 2 blocks from our house at 7:30pm. The gathering at the tech starts at 3:pm.I'll be arriving there after the awards presentation at the car show at the park, (not that I'm expecting to win anything). We took the wagon on the cruise last summer and it was a great time. Cruising up and down College Ave. with so many other show cars, and getting waves and cheers from people literally screaming at the top of their lungs at us as we drove by in the Vista. That kind of recognition means more to a show car owner than any trophy. Now I don't expect you to plan your visit around this event,, but if it happens to fall within your schedule, well great,,see you there!
