Hello to the station wagon forum. I live on Lake Norrell a small lake in Arkansas about 20 miles from Little Rock. I do not have a real wagon at this time. My driver is a 1998 Windstar and my wife and I share a 2004 CRV. I've liked wagons ever since my dad started driving them in the late 50s. His first was a 53 Chevy, and then in the early 60s a 57 Chevy 210. My dad, mom, me and my two brothers took the 53 on vacation all the way to Miami in about 1961. I was about 10, the older bro. was 14 and younger bro. 7. It was of course a 6 cyl. and a powerglide. No A/C and no interstate. The trip is a good memory. Anyway I've owned in the past a 77 Ford LTD wagon, a 80 Merc. wagon and then an 84 Caprice Estate Wagon that I wish I had kept. Traded it for a Safari van some time in the 90s. The younger bro. has a 63 Falcon wagon he is restoreing. Maybe way more info. than you wanted. I look at wagons and would like to get another 80's Chevy but my other toy keeps me busy it is a 99 vette 6spd. vert. that I drive only on nice days. The rest of the time it stays in it's home in our shop.

It's OK if to don't have a real wagon yet...mine is mostly in my dreams Actually, some is in the garage, some is in the spare room and some I have yet to purchase...and they let me hang around. Maybe you could post up a few pictures of your brother's project??? Either way your more then welcome to hang around and dream along with me

Sell the 'Vette and buy a wagon, even if it had a trunk you still couldn't fit a couch in the back. All they can do is carry two people, any car can do that. A vehicle is like a farm animal, if it can't pull it's own weight you sell it or eat it.
Thanks for the kind words of welcome? I've liked wagons most of my life as long as I can remember anyway. Way back in in 60s when I got my drivers license I hung out at a wrecking yard where we would trade cars and keep our engine. We would swap the engines and be on the road in a new car with our same engine. One of the trades I ended up with a 56 Nomad that would be nice to have today. I keep looking for a wagon and drive my Windstar when I need to haul something in the mean time. The vette is like motorcycle to me in that it only gets out on nice days just for fun. I'm hoping to get rid of a couple of motorcycles and some old hot rod parts to help fund the wagon purchase.
Good luck, real! It's nice to see someone that loves the wagons enough to sacrifice some long time toys to pursue the ownership of one of these classic American cars that some have forgotten. I guarantee that, when you find and buy the one that speaks to you, you will fall in love with the station wagon forever.
