Thanks for posting the pictures. If you upload picture(s) to a forum thread, the picture(s) will be automatically resized if they are bigger than 1024*768. The only catch is that each resized photo must be less than 250 kb or it will be rejected by the forum software. If the picture gets rejected by the forum, you can always upload it to the gallery.
nice! like you said " WRX wheels look great on Legacies! " I'll agree with that... Although I've always loved the legacy gt wheels too!
I'm getting a set of the stock GT wheels in a few weeks, once the guy gets paypal. Now, I'm not sure if I want it lower or higher. Lower is nice for handling and looks, but higher is better for offroad and parking with a curb. Maybe I'll slam the rear and lift the front? I just washed the car, I have some new pics to upload today. I like how the engine sounds, thanks. http://biyofan.joeyteel.com/groundmod/ shows the intake I have on it. The engine isn't running quite right yet, grounding mod helped a lot. I'm going to start saving up for an STi 6 speed and either an EG33 or an EJ257 longblock. We'll see.
I made my own kit with some wire and ring terminals. It helped reduce power surges, but I still get them a lot when it's cold, sometimes it really has to warm up before they stop. Going to rebuild the engine sooner or later, just need some performance parts and a bunch of new seals, bearings, and other random rebuild-related items first.
You know... there would obviously be a lot more to change out than just the shortblock... but you can get an STi short block for 1500 these days.... not too sure if a low compression turbo motor would do you any good tho if your into off roading. I'd imagine an N/A motor would work better in that case.
I would think that an NA motor is alot better for off roading, too. None of that lag/surge behaviour. HP/TQ numbers like that are really good.
TWE built a 300/300 setup for someone. Basically, someone gave them a stupid amount of money and they got a stupid fast car in return. The one bad thing about having 300 HP NA is the gearbox. I'm sure it wouldn't take more than one or two days for me to shred an entire gearbox with that kind of engine, unless it was a built gearbox.
yeah.. I agree. Just a thought. For my type of motorsports... it is the other way around for the most part... although.... 270whp NA car are fairly even with 315whp turbo cars. After that.. it just becomes quite difficult to make 500whp on a 2.0l without a turbo.
I've got a plan for the build... Start out with Exhaust, just for now. Brake upgrade (I've got 16" wheels on the car, and the brakes allow 15" wheels to clear. I intend to fix that with some WRX brakes) Suspension upgrade Stage 3 heads, including cams (increase the redline of the motor to around 9,000 rpm) 11.2:1 CR pistons EM and tuning New exhaust, step up from 2.25" to 2.5" Making 280 CHP at 2,000 rpm, and not having the power dip below 280 again until aver 8,500 rpm is pretty much just what I want.
Sounds good Sarra. It'll be real nice having a fat power curve. My Subie is a wee bit "peaky". It's fun, but not practical.
No gap of death. Right now it looks like i"m going to have to replace my rear diff gasket, or replace the entire rear diff. It's leaking, albiet slowly.
