Well I am still alive I guess. Things have been pretty crappy for me in the past several months. Where to start? Well, I spent 4 months with ZERO income, was laid off and not eligible for unemployment. Had to sell so much of our stuff just to pay the bills and eat. That Saturn I bought the wife, I ended up giving it away for $250 to pay the electric bill. Christmas sucked, i had to shop at the dollar store for presents for the kids, everyone else went without. Lost my internet, its back for now, but I am playing catchup on so many back bills I do not know how long it will stay on for. Had to shut both the wifes and my cell phones off, could not afford to keep them on. I got mine back on now. Was just my birthday on the 4th, started as a pretty good day, then on my 11:00am lunch break, my phone rings, my dad says Happy Birthday, but I have some bad news, Grandpa died at 10:32am this morning. Rest of the day sucked, as has the whole week. Funeral is Saturday. 56 year old Cousin passed from an aneurysm on New Years Day and we buried him Yesterday Now to some good news. However I did find a job, I am still working as a temp there, but I am due to get hired in, takes 400 hours and I am well beyond that at nearly 700 hours. Its Tax time soon, so we found a buyer for this crappy trailer and 2 possible buyers for the Roadmaster, though I will still be giving it away as they only really want the motor, tranny and rearend out of it. Hate to do it, but nobody here wants it and I got not one reply to my newspaper or craigslist ads for it. Then once our taxes come back, we are out of here, on a plane to the Philippines! Everyone is doing good, well healthy anyway. My oldest son turned 18 the 29th of December, so I am now an offical old man :banghead3: In a nutshell, last year really sucked, this year is also really sucking so far, but it can't get any worse then it has been, so it has to get better.
Jeese, I just respoded in your B-Day thread that I some how missed..... You have had a ruff one for sure. Never give up, you'll be in the Phillipines before you know it
tell me that they arent gonna gut the "long board"? what are you asking for it? and just it... maybe we can find someone yet!
I am not gutting anything. It is up to the buyer to do whatever they want with it. I just know it has to go, one way or another. I want $1000obo for it. Its not perfect, not at all, but it is solid and everything works except the AC and delay wipers. It is just shy of 180,000 miles. Needs a windshield, front shocks, swaybar bolt and a tierod. I am not putting a penny into it, I just had to borrow $129 for a new alternator from my parents, so I could get to work. Went out new years eve and nobody I knew had one, boneyards were all closed. So I had to go to Advance Autoparts, I asked for a rebuilt, they said they could get me one by the 4th, but that was no good, had to be at work at 5am Monday. The 93, that went for scrap. I hated to do it, but like the 92, not one reply from here, craigslist or the newspaper ads. I sold the tranny to my brother, the seats to the member here and the rest went to the scrap yard to get chopped into chunks and sent to China. I tried, but the public spoke(or lack of speaking actually) and they all said, SCRAP IT!
Well Scott, you're doing it right. Movin' ahead. Plannin' your work, and workin' your plan. Glad to see you chimed in.
Heya, Blackie! Man....sorry to hear about your bad times. I hope things turn around for you with the new job when it comes through. Missed ya here.
I feel ya, brother!! My financial situation is in the toilet as well. But, when you hit bottom, the only way to go is up.
Hey bud!!! Was just thinking about you the other day. Sorry to hear about your losses. Times have been hard all over, but wishing you good things to come in 2011. BTW, you still got that sweet 74 Celica waiting for you in the Phillipines?
