I know it is a very long shot, but here goes....I have a good friend close Albemarle, NC that had her '60 Plymouth Fury stolen. :( It is pea green in color, 2 door HT, chrome skirts. The cops told her that the car had probably been crushed. I doubt that. Most any scrap yard owner would probably set such a vehicle aside. I can't really see it crushed unless the thief cut it up. I would almost bet it is out there somewhere on Craig's List for sale without a title. This is where you guys and gals come in. If you happen to see one for sale, try to find out a little about it without making the "owner" suspicious. If you think it might have come from NC, please let me know. They also got a bunch of tools, but I think (know)she would be overjoyed just to get her car back. It is not a restored car, but supposedly pretty much original and drivable. Thanks!!!

Damn that bites. I know of a few yards around here that has old cars in them. One is Richards in Farmer,NC Whites Service Station in Germanton, NC Pull A Part will take cars that old without the titles. There is also a small yard in Denton,NC that would take it to sell without titles. Sorry I can't be more help since most of these places I can't get around in.

Richards will import cars out of the country too. When it comes to $$$ I would keep a eye on him.

ill keep a sharp eye on the Pittsburgh CL, i doubt if they try to move the whole car, that it will reappear in the same area or state for that matter.
there are 3 types of car theives.

    1. the pro's
these guys get orders for parts and find a car that matches their needs. then they stalk there prey...find the persons schedule and make thier move. usually they don't boost the whole car, just what they have an order for. these guys are so quiet and efficient...they stripped my buddy's mitsubishi evo bare...FIVE FEET FROM HIS BEDROOM WINDOW!

    2. the choppers,
steal anything with wheels ...scrap what they can't sell!

    3. joy riders.
usually the teenage a-holes that you wanna strangle! they steal a car and beat the crap out of it, smoke pot in it, or drive it off road for a few hours and leave it when they get bored or the cops get on them.
this ends badly either way because if the cops dont get them the car i usually stuck in the woods or set on fire.

Thanks, King.....I assume the car is far away from where it was stolen from, but I will bet it is somewhere and has not met a crusher. May have been exported to Mexico or overseas, even. You know, if anybody just happens to run across a Plymouth fitting this description. I know our forum has members all over the world and that is a lot of eyes. That green Plymouth is somewhere.

Since it was an old car, locked in a garage, I think they wanted it for what it was. They knew they could get some big bucks for it. If it was somebody needing some drug money, they would have jacked something easier to get.

No, I haven't posted it on any other site, yet. She is trying to find a picture of it to send me. I was holding off until I get the pic.

This kinda stuff makes me sick. I hope she finds the car and I also hope they catch the dirty rotten b@$+erd$ who stole it.

I checked the pacific N.W. craigslist. Mostly minivans and 'Cudas for sale.

I'll keep an eye out though.

    Keep us posted.

I'd maybe start by trying to get a list of all the '60 Plymouths registered in the area. My bet is they were looking for parts to rebuild one.
