LowLow to me that is a wagon and fully functional. It looks Great. I wonder how they did it.

The red one (based on the '67/'68 platform) is totally useless. Who would want a wagon that you can't load anything through the back?

The dirty blue one and the white / blue stripe one seem to be related. I seem to recall something about some designer (Robert Cumberford?) having something to do with these. One curious thing though. You can see on the 'dirty' one that a gas door has been put in the left quarter, but no such thing on the white one. But the white one shows it has a hatch....maybe they tried a gas filler behind the license plate on that one......

As can be seen on this picture, the dirty green shows a different opening

The (dirty) green one is supposed to be a prototype by Intermeccanica. Several have been produced on a similar design. More info's here:

I really like the white one the best with the hatch area opening. The concept look like it only had a small trunk lid opening.

This forum had me contact a mustang friend up here. He said the mustang wagon wound up at a local wrecker. It was put aside. He said it was in rough shape. His version of rough is quite different from mine.
Anyways he is going to talk to the wrecker owners since they are nearly neighbors and see if they can recall where the car went. I seny him these pics of these wagons and it has him excited. I think if the wagon can be located here he may go for it and have it redone. He drives these cars, but does very little work on them.

I just found the Oct 1966 Article on how they built the Mustang wagon. My son is going to clean it up and enlarge the print.

It looks like an old Vega roof and glass and hatch.

That is what I was thinking but I had a Vega and the hatch is flat where is that one has a curve to it.

Got me wondering so I looked through my books. The side glass does not look Vega. The hatch looks like a Nova hatch with the deck lid shorten. The shape of the glass and the hinge points and the hatch shock mounting look the same as a early 70's Nova hatch. Even the curve of the deck looks Nova, but shortened.
Thta maybe the hatch. The roof maybe a Vega with the same location for hinge mounting. The side glass is too short for Vega.
