This is the second time I introduced myself, cause I haven't been on this site for months. I purchased a 63 Rambler wagon about 10 months ago and spent last summer restoring/painting it. It is almost done. Then about 3 weeks ago, I found a good deal on a 76 Volvo wagon 265 and just had to have it. Anyways, these 2 cars are just additions to my small collection of different makes and models of cars, but I really enjoy these wagon. If you want to see the resto. of the Rambler, go to www.cardomain.com/id/ragtopman I"m also going to try and post some pictures of the wagons, but I'm not sure of how to. I hope you enjoy the pictures and remember, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE DRIVE, ENJOY IT. The first picture is of the way the Rambler looked when it was trailered home, the next ones are of the way it looks now, a nice driving 10 footer and the Volvo wagon is the way it looks as I drove it home.
Thanks for all the compliments. The Rambler was built to be a weekend trip classic driver, not a show car. My wife and I try to get away every weekend in the summer and driving a reliable older wagon just makes the getaway that much more enjoyable. The Volvo is going to be a true parts chaser/hauler car. I've found that transporting a engine block or trans in the trunk of a passenger car can be a opening for a back or shoulder injury, considering I have 3 different engine projects going over the winter, I needed to find a classic parts chaser wagon and this Volvo is perfect. It needs some TLC, but it runs and stops in the condition it's in, so I can drive it as I fix the minor issues. Thanks again and I'm glad I found this site.
Hey, you know how to pick 'em. Like the Volvo! With my Scandinavian heritage, I'm always checking for Volvo 122 two doors and wagons, but it has crossed my mind that a later vintage Volvo wagon would make a very cool daily driver. Really like the Rambler, great looking wagons, mostly ignored among car guys. Nice wheels on the Rambler too. Thanks for the pictures. Arvid Svendsen
Sven, thanks for the compliments. If you like Volvos, you should check out my other cars, that are NOT wagons, so I don't have them list on this site. I have a 61 Volvo 544 and a 63 Volvo p1800s. The 544 is more or less stored and driven during the summer and the P1800 is in need of restoration, but was driven into the garage several years ago. If you want to take a look at the none wagon Volvos, go to www.cardomain.com/id/ragtopman
Welcome aboard! Nice wagons, esp. the 'Classic.' It, the Ramber, has a cool, period correct 60's mod/surfer/SoCal vibe to it. (with the possible exception of the radials, but I understand that choice.)
Checked out your other cars, definitely a nice collection, really liked the PV544 and P1800. When I visited Norway, we drove around in my uncle's PV544, still remember that car. Now how about throwing a 401 in that Rambler?
