Up to 8 inches of snow in the next 18 hours, and it won't melt off! http://www.cbc.ca/canada/manitoba/story/2010/11/18/mb-weather-snow-warning.html I'm so glad I finished outside work yesterday. Now I have to plug the car in. Brrr! The only heart warming part is that its heading to the Capital, Ottawa. Frozen political brains should have the weather to match.
Same here Norm, I was wishing I wore gloves last nite while we were walking the dogs, it was cold!...sh**, I am getting old, I will be wearing gloves for tonites walk. I got up at 4:30 and evreything was iced. In a wierd way I don't mind, gets me out of the house a bit earler to defrost my and my honeys rides and while there warming up good old play time in the front yard with the boys, Kirby and Rascal. I can feel it in my bones, we'll be iced over again tommorow and they say we can expext snow this week end.
Yup I dodged a bullet this year. I was out at my camp on Lake of the Woods closing things up, and got frozen in this morning.
You dodged a whole armada yesterday! -22C (-9F) tonite and the temps were warmer at 5 AM (29F) today, and going down all day long. I'll bet you could walk across the lake tomorrow, regardless of your angelic qualities. Maybe you know where the stones are to walk on. Just plain miserable. I think La Nina is having a hissy-fit.
I kind of feel bad for you guys... its winter here in Arizona now too... we've chilled down into the 60's during the day and 40's at night... (im just hassling you guys) I know how you guys feel...I grew up in Michigan. You guys in the great white north are in our thoughts.. Stay warm!
It started to slush snow last nite while walking the dogs and by 11PM everything had a thin white blanket. Was friken funny, this is the first time the pup Rascal has seen snow.....he was afraid of it, would'nt leave the house. Then at 5AM he got the guts to go out and whitin minutes the whole back yard was destroyed. He just loves the stuff and so does old Kirby, picks the old guys spirits up big time. We have 4 inches of the stuff at my house, but it's warming and the road is melting.......now it will freeze and al hell will break loose.
We got about 4 inches, but there's another 8 inches coming over the week. And this stuff won't melt. We're in a deepfreeze until next Saturday, when we'll warm up to -5C (23F). Bare hands weather.
Tedy, you don't put booties on their feet do you? Can't imagine a german shepard with booties. Here, its pretty common for a quick morning walk in -30C, but I've seen some all decked out in summer too, just not on the big dogs. One neighbour has a big St Bernard and two big yappie mongreloids (Even Heinz 57 couldn't describe them), the St Bernard just lies in the freezing snow and watches the other ones run around barking at their shadows and every car/person that comes past them. Man he's big. Runs up to the 4' wire fence, paws on top and lets you ruff up his ears. The others are cowards. They jump the fence during winter, and make like they'll attack, until you turn and face them. Don't have to say a thing. And gone in 5 seconds! I guess they know, that I know how to handle them, after 22 of my dad's hunters to raise.
Is that a business flight or sled dog trip? Calgary is one weird weather region. In the middle of the day, you can be decked out in parkas and toques and snowshoes and then they get a Chinook wind and it's 60 degrees. Nutso weather. You can tell when a Chinook is coming, because the clouds start forming like a big crown in a clear blue sky, from south to north, and then instant warm weather for the rest of the day or two.
