Id say it was good that it went.

How much towing could a 305 really do in a big wagon???

Shy away from them wagons with an engine that should be in a mid size to compact car ;)

I just want it to drive, I have a pickup for towing. I have a 4-day weekend, including my birthday paid, so it's not all bad. And the wife's making me supper as I speak. This car was kinda for her, her Alero's not the best, and she coulda fallen back on this, or my pickup if needed. (Just not my Electra or the Caprice) lol.

And thank you all for the kind words.

For that Id almost opt for one of those FWD V6 mid sized wagons, some were sharp.

I'd have to say not. I've never owned anything that wasn't V8 RWD, except my 58 Delray, which got a 327/TH400 once I bought it lol.

Yup....they don't last long here in Wisconsin if they look like that one, CE. And, of course, I respectfully disagree with 350x. The 80's box wagons are super nice rigs. The 307 may be a dog but they are good runners and, as you know, CE, the engines are an easy swap if you want more power. Too bad you missed it. If you would have snared it I would have had to come see it.:D

Yup and yup! My 307 is doggie, but it's a dam good turn key reliable drive that has never given me a problem, and also never gave Suzie, our friend who gave us the wagon any problems and she drove it for years. I hope you and your honey find the rite wagon soon. Ya kinda remind me of me in a way....I can see you finding that rite wagon after a long search and just drive and maintain and enjoy.:D(y)

Look at the bright side, now you can look for a Cutlass Cruiser. The mid size GM wagons from that era handle pretty good and are easy to maneuver around a parking lot compared to the full size wagons.

    Cheers,
    Ken
