He's emailed back that he's working the deal on the convert but it will be a somewhat drawn out affair. Reluctant kinda seller but needs the money and only needs another month or two of nudging. Not as expensive as one would think. A decent car, a driver, but needs to be gone through. If he doesn't get the convertible he's already told me he is not a wagon guy, with apologies when he quickly caught himself about mine. He did pursue a '55 Nomad years ago, got the run around, and since then has not shown much interest in wagons but I thought just maybe.......... He had a '58 Convert when he was in college so this is a memory lane car for him. The wagon is a Canadian version so built on a Chevy frame, with Chevy powertrain. It is a nice car and very rare. A Parisiene (?sp) model. He has already passed the lead on and the car sold that day. These don't last long up here. Everyone knows how rare they are. They made fewer of them than I suspect they did the converts.
Sure is a great looking Oldsmobile you have there. I remember the first few weeks of ownership of my '77 LTD Country Squire. It had been sitting for years outside undriven, so I was still working out the bugs. I was in college at the time and it stalled out in front of a bunch of frat houses. Kids would yell out "get rid of it" or "what a pile of ----". Their views changed a few months later as I passed them on the same road after a major snow. The roads where not plowed, while their FWD Toyotas and eco cars slid or got stuck.
