Man, what a question!! Hmmm, I believe technically it is a wagon. But then, there's SUV's with long roofs, 4-doors and a tailgate.
What the heck does PT mean anyway? The only one I recall was JFK's PT 109 boat. I think its a mini SUV, not a wagon. You've got to pull the seats out to load anything substantial. You don't in a wagon.
I think it means personal touring. Here's my take on the matter. A PT, HHR, Matrix etc. are all wagons. They are car based.
Yeah, GT would be a stretch. I think Mopar missed a good opportunity to integrate the retro look in more models. The PT and the 300s were a good start, but they dropped the ball.
Exactly. The PT is built on top of a Neon, which is a car. If you have ever driven one you would for sure know that it is not an SUV. They don't handle the dirt roads very well.
I believe it is actually called a 'wagon' by DMV's.... Had one for a company vehicle back in 2002 - 2003. I liked it. Did everything a small wagon would in the 'way back' Had a very usable parcel shelf that you could put in two positions, and it also slid out. I used it for a 'desk' sometimes when doing my inspections. Had a power inverter to run my computer and printer, a little fold-up stool, and a roof over my head (the hatch).
Here's what Wiki says... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Station_wagon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sport_utility_vehicle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crossover_(automobile) Thoughts?
PT stands for "Personal Transportation" according to Chrysler... Of the ones currently listed on ebay, this is how they were catagorized: Convertible (15) Hatchback (10) Minivan, Van (3) Sedan (22) SUV (10) Wagon (23) Not Specified (12)
I voted yes. I think it's more a wagon than an suv; you can't even get all wheel drive on them, right?
So, excluding the convertibles, that means that it's listed as a 'wagon' 23 times out of 80 total. I guess people are having a hard time categorizing it....
This is what I found... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_PT_Cruiser the pt seems to be listed as a light truck in the U.S. But they seem to have a 5dr wagon listed... Would seem they are just as confused as the rest of us. I always thought of the PT as a panel van. But when I looked it up, check out what I found... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panel_van So does this answer the question:confused:
Sorry if this has already been posted, but according to the US government, its a truck. Sooo, is an SUV a wagon?
