Yes, I am a member of Nasioc. It is an 02 WRB WRX Wagon. Before I pulled the motor, it made 303awhp with 300ft lbs. on pump 93 running a big 16g turbo at 20psi. The car has been stripped to sub 3000lbs. The motor is pulled and the EJ205 is being built with a forged bottom end, ported and polished heads, bigger valves, and stage 3 Crower Cams. I have not decided on the turbo yet but it will be around 49-53lbs/min, 750cfm@14.7psi nature (SZ49, SZ53, GT30r etc...). This, along with all the supporting mods (AEM EM, PPG Dogbox, External Wastegate), SHOULD put down decent power. I'm looking to make 425awhp on 93 pump/100% meth and closer to 500awhp on C16/100% meth. There really hasn't been too much work done with an EJ205 so we'll see how/if it holds up. Lets cross our fingers. -Fred Pictures: http://stationwagonforums.com/forums/gallery/browseimages.php?c=36 and my last dyno sheet:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v495/Japslapr/rex001.jpg
Yeah I know... I don't know how to remove it. I guess it just needs to go over to the Mitsu page. Hot car tho.....
That's essentially the car I wanted. I'm going to end up doing a swap, put a 2 liter WRX motor in my Legacy, then do some more tuning... Weight reduction... Make my Legacy GT into a Legacy Sportwagon.
Sarra I will warn you... although NOT a bad set up, it will make less power than the 2.5 counterpart. I have chosen to build the 2.0 to do something different. It is going to cost be more money to build my 2.0 than it would cost to outright buy an already forged 2.5l STi shortblock. Weigh all of your options and truely consider all of your goals. I will make less power and spool later than the 2.5 guys... but they are EVERYWHERE.... and I can stand having the same crap as the next person. You can get a JDM 2.0 which is farily reasonably priced and it is already forged... then of course... you play the transmission game and there is NO cheap way around that.
Same here.... possibly. Although I want to do either the 2.5L or the JDM 2.0TT. Something tells me mine is gonna be harder to do then yours. Of couse I may end up just buying a super cheap project car and stripping it for track use. Bleh. I need money.
My goal isn't to be faster than any STi or STi longblock equipped car, that would actually be really useless as my car, stock with the 2.5 NA engine, is faster than most other cars as it is. I just want something faster, and relativly inexpensive. If I did do the STi engine swap, I would do the 6 MT swap too, and thats a little more coin that I can shuffle around my pocket, so to speak. As it is, my stock gearbox is okay, and the stock engine is okay, so I'll probably wait for one or the other to blow up, then go from there, or once I get some cash, do a WRX gearbox, then worry about my engine later. Also, I don't want to jump from 165 hp to 300+, knowing my skill level and comfort level, I'd probably kill myself doing that, but going from 165 to 230 or so, I could adjust and increase my skill level. I'm also considering doing an EG33 swap, but I want the hood scoop on my weapon to be useful instead of a decoration. Hence, a WRX motor with the stock top mount. If I want to go serious into modding and HP numbers, I'd probably sell the 2 liter, since I won't be heavily modding it, partly to save the gearbox, and partly for my own safety, and swap in an EJ257, or do a turbo EZ30 build. Right now, i'm just trying to get some WRX stock wheels, so I can get rid of these crappy american racing wheels, they rub really bad. Then I'll probably get a WRX Wagon suspension. Then, weight reduction time. And finally, a repaint, possibly including adding a WRX scoop in place of my Legacy scoop, if I can find a simple way of swapping them. Since it's getting a WRX powertrain, I'm going to debadge it and it's getting the WRB treatment.
