I'll bet these cars are in Europe. The Euros tend to over decorate American cars thinking we do it this way, perhaps having seen the family truckster once too often.
I have (2) 1967 buick sportwagons for sale in North Florida, no extrta trim on them. 1 is a white woody, the other is light green without woodgrain. Steve
Tedy, The wagons with the extra trim on them. It just occurred to me - they must belong to the Extra Trim Manufacturing Company's sales guys
Bumpers Could the bumpers be extended and what looks like retangle bumper pads actually be black moulding behind the bumper? I am not familiar with these years, but did this age range come with rubber anti-slip pieces on top? If you look close it looks like there are step pads on top of the bumpers.
I contacted the person listed as the author of the photo, and here was his reply... not much information though: Cermo, These stationwagons were on a back lot of a Buick dealership. They are all owned by an older gentleman in Dallas Texas who couldnt store them all at his home. Having been a long time customer of the dealer he was allowed to leave them here for a time. They are gone now but I'm not sure where. Thanks, Jon
Wow, good thinking, Cermo. Nice job. We still don't know the actual history of them, but thanks to you, we're getting closer!!
Since these are in Dallas maybe we can get Wixom61 to take a break on his beautiful 2 door project, put on his Sherlock Holmes hat and go out and solve this case.
Well, I know where there is an Estate Wagon (see post #13) with the same goofy trim on it, and maybe it is part of this puzzle. I will go by and take a pic tomorrow. David
Dang it! I forgot to go by and take pics of that Estate Wagon with all the side molding. Maybe tomorrow. David
