I just bought my first station wagon tonight, super excited about it, replaced my 93 Nissan pathfinder with a 1978 Plymouth Volare, sure its nothing special and to me its no 9 passenger Plymouth fury, but I'm still excited.

    1978 Plymouth Volare

    super slant six
    3 spd. 904... i believe
    original red interior
    3rd owner with 153,000 kilometers.

Yeah, they were a nice ride. Tried to buy a new one, at 8:30 PM at night and the salesman told me it was too cold and to come back the next day. I bought a new Fairmont Futura wagon across the street and never went back to Mopar.

    Welcome aboard.:Welcome:

Here's the pics upload info. You're gonna need it. Can't keep a nice wagon under wraps here.:biglaugh:

I will add the Horses and Subtract the MPG in my 71 Dart Swinger this wagon will most likely stay a cruiser with the slant... I'll put my wagon in the garage when I get some pics!

Sorry to be the "GIRL" in the group...but when you say "you can hot rod those too". Do you mean HUGE PIPES AND EXTRA CARBS AND THINGS coming out of the engine or are you talking about a couple of mods to increase hp and performance? I would like to do this to Fannie the hp and performance part...and maybe a touch of CHROME  love the chrome. So are these adjustment done to the engine only or to the transmission too? I'm not going to be draggin her (don't need whiplash fast) but hope to be driving her regularly in the summer months and don't have a problem putting a few cars behind me on the HWY, you know, the WOW I wasn't expecting that, kinda fast. Maybe the answers are in a manual somewhere. My hubby is a pretty handy backyard machanic...maybe he knows this stuff...but I don't know... Anyway what kind of things should I be thing about doing?

    THE GIRL

    LMAO at fannie!
I will defer to Andy on this issue but I can tell you that in my years of cardom I have made in line 6's go very well. In fact, I like to make them go. Yes, you can make it go much better, fannie, for, comparatively, little money.

These guys will have plenty of go fast advice.

Fannie, the camshaft creates most of the "character" of the engine.
I consider a camshaft swap to be at the core of most hot-rodding.
Any other improvements in fuel, spark, and airflow are usually designed to get the most out of the cam.
