Breathe deep...Ohmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...322---probably the Buick version of the Pontiac 327...Yes,Pontiac!..For the Apache pick-up truck...YES,the PONTIAC APACHE PICK-UP TRUCK!!! Read about it once in a book at the local library here in Sunland-Tujunga(a book they no longer have, alas)In 47,48 and 49 Pontiac put out the Apache pick-up truck(Iron Indian, think about it)with a brand new engine, the 327(about 175 hp,at the time)and four on the floor...In the early Fifties, the drivetrains from these were the ones to seek out and find. They fit into a lot of GM platforms,or could be easily fit, with minor fabrication...Also in the early Fifties,GM decided only Chevy and GMC would make pick-up trucks and Chevy would make the Apache.People who remembered the Pontiac version wanted a new version. And got it...Well,that's what that one book said,honest...

What a beautiful automobile. I love the color choice with the wood grain. Hard to beat the looks of an early 50's Buick
