1963 is probably just about right. I think the cars are Holdens. Probably the EH model.

Postcard from about 1960 entitled "The Glass House, Sanca, B.C. A six room fully modern residence, constructed entirely of sixty-one thousand 16 ounce glass bottles (30 tons) situated on #3 highway, midway between Creston, B.C. and the Kootenay Bay Ferry enroute to Nelson, B.C.

And then the dreaded Recycle truck showed up one day and the house disappeared. No trace has ever been found..............

    Just kidding of course....

    Found this on another forum:

From the movie "North by Northwest" the Forest Service 56 Chevy magically changes from a window delivery

to a regular station wagon in a very short time and distance.

The '56 tailgate is on a commercial wagon - a sedan delivery but with windows (there's a name for them but I can't remember). Gov't bought a lot of them (military, post office, forest service, health care) and they were very utilitarian. I don't think many of them had back seats so if you were to visualize a sedan delivery with just the front seat and then bed to the back that is what the majority of these had. Mind you, it is nothing to put a 2dr wagon back seat in, a bit of work but nothing major. The nice thing about these liftgates is that they were not prone to leaks.
