TBird posted the Fox numbers back in 2007 or early 2008. It might have been less. Post 1982, the latch changed on the other Fox wagons.

    No pics today either.

Got the headliner back up in the rear (all the tailgate wiring is behind it.)

I've got one 1987 Mustang cargo cover - too narrow, AND one 1981 Capri cargo cover, perfect width, both in great shape, Fully extended, its 41 inches long. But it would only cover about 15" from the back to the tailgate, so its not worth the effort. I'll list them on one of the related sites. Took me a while to decide not to do it, but I had to face the practicality of it.

Anyway, the interior electrical is done. Just have under the hood to wrap up (headlights and marker lights mainly). I want to install a 4 headlight system, so I'll just mothball the inside headlight sockets for a week or two.

Carpet is in, console in place, Instrument panel and dash, even the premium sound amplifier. I touched up all the interior trim, dyed the blue map pocket carpet inserts to chocolate brown and re-glued them too.

Might rain for an hour late in the morning (1 mm tinkle), but I'll be out bright and early to get the interior finished and pull the door panels to make new water shields. Then wrap up the front wiring (engine compartment and lights) and crank her up! :thumbs2:

Still have to install the tailgate trim, but I have to clean off the mess around the edges a bit.

I magically hit the sweet spot on the tailgate latch. No slamming. It just clicks in and locks tighter than a duck's pucker upper.:rofl2: What a treat! I always had to give it a 2 foot shove down. My old hinges need new pins, but the new gate had nice tight pins. So nice to get that right. :thumbs2:

Interior is done, except for the water shields and visors. Looks and feels like a whole different set of wheels.:thumbs2:

Rain started around 8:30 PM, so I had to stop. Didn't get any pics either - too dark.

If it's warm enough, I'll wash the car in the rain tomorrow.

Watershields in the doors, visors, headlights, grille and battery charging. That's all that's left for right now.

I haven't got any idea about locating rear speakers. None of the plastic panels I got from the Capri, really 'speak' to me. Might have to break down and score something from a newer Mustang/Capri. I've the front pair in, and all the speaker wires running to the back, so it'll be an easy add in.

I've got one of those Black and Decker 12 volt DC drills that flips from straight to 45 and 90 degrees. Its a great little variable speed drill. Used it a lot to install the console, fix my gate latch, repair the tailgate, etc.

So I got a brain wave. I'll modify the next dead battery box to connect to the car battery. That'll give it some kick!

I'm gonna buy a battery Jig saw, for cutting out the Capri ebrake section. I did a decent job, but it isnt as strong as I'd like it. Hope its 12 volt too!:rofl2:

Now all I need is a 12 volt tack welder.

Humpty Dumpty is back together again. It was too late to fill up the rad, and connect the vacuum lines to the air breather, but I cranked her over, to get some gas up into the carb. Some small details left. But should be running this afternoon.

Got it running this morning! Shifts perfectly. I have to solve an idle problem. It idles at about 1800, and won't come down. Andy the tuning guru is coming over to diag the problem and solution. All screws are backed off. No idle, no fast idle, no kickdown. Only thing I can think of is the Advance. Vacuum at between 18 and 23. The only two things that I changed were the Capri Dizzy module, and the Capri emission lines. I've got the Capri carb, but it needs a cleaning and rebuild. That I can do.

I've been tweaking stuff, in between helping my wife with her trip 'pendings' (gifts for nices and nephews and 5 sisters and 3 brothers and her mom. Can't believe she can pack so much in a wheelie carry-on bag! She should have been a wagon designer.:biglaugh:

Anyway I tore down the Capri carb and soaked it all day in Carb cleaner, ready for assembly tomorrow. Got a new PDL relay, rubber cement for the weatherstrips, misc. bits and adjustments on tomorrow's agenda.

Just warm enough to assemble the carby. My wife can't take chemical odors in the house. So I'm off to play again.
