I love this wagon! It has a coupe door on the driver's side! So cool! One of my all-time favorites...I would be tempted to recreate this some day!

Love this one cuz it has a 64 Plymouth.
Has to have been a red car, though it looks a touch pink.
    Nice group of pics Tedy.

So she'd be like 70 or 80 something now - and by now had more bodywork done on her than the car. These models don't restore very well. Mind you, the cars look good once they've been restored.........

I remember reading a lot about this Ford comcept car from 69/07 or so, but I can't find anything now on the internet about it. I may have even seen it at the LA Auto Show back then. It may have been named 'Berline' or something like that. It was supposed to be a 'model' for a slightly smaller, lighter Ford LTD. It had some interesting features - a small 'engine access door' instead of a full hood; parallelogram door hinges, along with rear-hinged (I think) doors. Anybody have anything on this one?
EDIT: Now I remember about the doors - it was only a 2-door car. The doors were real long, and had the special hinges to allow a wide opening, but still keep the door edge from sticking out to much....

Also, never saw that Aurora II concept. I do remember Mercury having something similar, though. Both were probably built at the same time.

Here's the 1964 Aurora Concept Wagon.

This is the '65 Colony Park - George Barris created 1965 Matt Helm movie car for "The Silencers". It uses most of the same layout as the 1964 Aurora.

This 1969 Aurora II is an updated, production-based concept wagon...I like it the best! What a SWANK-MOBILE!
Someday, I'm gonna build me one! Mine will have a true coupe door on the driver's side, instead of just a regular hardtop-style sedan door.

Sorry to be hijacking this thread...that Detroit Auto Show photo got me going, and I just couldn't resist. Now back to your regularly scheduled program.
