    Hey guys,

Here are some pics of my Rambler. only 23k miles on it, was in a barn for 20 years so still cleaning things up but everything works! I cannot believe the attention that funky little red wagon gets, people stop and talk to me every time I take it out. Even got a peoples choice award at a local show last weekend. Everything is still original, basic tuning, redid the front brakes, but lots more small stuff to do and of course the seats which were pretty torn up from the mice. I am a total wagon geek so I am glad I found this forum!

    Nice wagon there, Chris.
For whatever reason, most of those early Rambler American wagons that i see are the 2-door version. Don't know why that is. Wonder what the production figures are...?

Nice that it's the 'deluxe' 400 model, too.
Got some pics of the engine compartment and interior?

    Welcome to the forum.

Nice Rambler Chris, and welcome! My mother's mother had a charcoal grey 1961 Rambler Classic station wagon. Rear-ended and totalled in 1968.:Welcome:

The aluminum thresholds look excellent, and that bit of rust is nothing. What a stroke of luck! If I recall correctly, Rambler actually dipped their cars in a galvanizing process. I don't recall what years that I saw the TV ads, but Youtube or some car movie/ad sites might have the ads.

Great start on a neat adventure!:thumbs2:

The interior trim stainless and aluminum peices are in great shape, some are off the car while I clean the rest up but will get the sill plates back on when carpet goes back in. Amazingly, there is only a tiny bit of surface rust here and there where paint might be worn off but floors are perfect and only one true rust spot hidden by the drivers side back door. Underside has no true rust either. I'm having a great time with it.
