My Signature line says I'm still looking for a 67 Belvedere II wagon. I need to change that but while I can change other info, I can't seem to find the right place to change my signature line.
That line has served me well for a while, but now its time for a change. In April, a new member of this Forum saw that line and contacted me about a 67 Belvedere II wagon he was considering selling. Over the weekend we agreed on a price, and now I'm just waiting for a buddy of mine who lives in Massachusettes to complete the sale for me and pick up the car. Later this summer, my buddy will bring the car to me in Virginia and I'll then get to see it for the first time.
Heres the details: 318 with automatic on the column, factory air, white with blue interior, 52,000 mile Florida car. Needs tailgate and a front passenger door. Both pieces look okay on the outside, but rusted at the bottom inside. My buddy in Massachusettes has a good front door for me off a 67 Coronet 4 door sedan which will fit (good thing it wasn't a rear passenger door which would be a wagon only and Belvedere only part), So the only part I need to find is a better tailgate (I know that will be next to impossible) for a 66-67 Belvedere wagon. The right rear quarter has body filler at the bottom as well as in the adjoining spare tire well which is an extension of that quarter. Otherwise, the wagon appears to be pretty straight and solid, but it needs paint. Interior has a rip on the drivers seat but is fairly decent otherwise.

Congratulations on the new wagon. It sounds like, with some effort on your part, you will have pretty much what you have wanted.

It is fun to watch these things fall in to place for other wagon owners.

Honestly Jim, I was looking out for you too, but every time I saw something, it was either sans drivetrain, or had those special 'oxide accents' if ya know what I mean.... And then when I did see one, I ouldn't remember if you were looking for a '67, or a '66 (probably passed one by with that mistake).

Well anyway, glad you found one in your own 'backyard' so to speak....good luck with it..

Congratulations Jim. They say good things come to he who waits and you're the perfect example of that. Looks like it's in real good shape.

Thanks everyone for your support and encouragement. And Krash, thanks for looking out for a Belvedere wagon for me. I was enjoying the looking part, but I can't say I was really ready to pull the trigger on any wagon. Existing projects, the fear that I'll hear from the county and neighbors if I bring another car to this suburban neighborhood, and an economy that makes me doubt that I'll still have a job two months from now, all makes the timing real bad. But, as I mentioned, this one fell into my lap. The seller contacted me because he saw my "looking for a 67 Belvedere II wagon" signature line here on this forum. And yes, I bought it sight unseen which I would never do, except the car happened to be located 10 minutes away from a buddy of mine who I consider to be the Guru of 67 Plymouth and Dodge B-bodies. I trusted his evaluation of the car more than I would trust my own. And my buddy comes to Virginia every now and then to visit his brother, and offered to bring the wagon on his trailer if I bought it.
I probably won't even see the car till later this summer, and when I do get it, it will likely be stored at another buddy's house an hour away until I can get some other project cars looking more presentable.
I guess I now need to change my signature line to "still looking for a tailgate for a 66-67 Belvedere wagon".

Thanks Steve. I made the change.

Meanwhile, once I have the wagon, I'll have to borrow a couple dogs to pose in the back to complete this picture.
