Took these on 6/4. This rod run used to be tied to a local 1/8th mile drag strip but the strip has since been sold to a developer. Now, there is a run the first Friday evening in June and August. They shut down the main drag and only "tagged" cars are allowed on it. Even cars that aren't street legal are OK to run. Always a decent time.

Since I now have a '52 Chrysler wagon, I was pleased to see this Plymouth 2 door.

This was a 100 footer. The body was really beat and it looked like they just picked up some silver spray paint from Wal Mart and had at it. However, I love the look.

Looks like a 68/9 Belvedere station wagon.

It is a 68 Plymouth Belv. Wagon. You can tell its a 68 by the round marker lights. The 69's where rectangle.

Ah yes, I believe you are correct. Those tiny round lites looked so good if not the best compared to other car makes.

Again with the Plymouth. Once the sun started going down, the quality of the pictures sucked.

Probably my favorite non-wagon of the night....an Olds 98. When it went by, the back end looked like it was 20 feet wide. Nice lines.

I could kick myself for not taking more of this one. This was advertising a local recycling center so it'll probably be back in August.

I absolutely love this one and am a fan of the rat rod look, in general.

Had a buddy (16 years old) with one of those Olds 98 hardtops. He always drove like he stole it! Pranged it up a few times and learned to do bodywork, and bumper replacement. Lucky for him that he bought it new. His dad paid him to milk the cows and distribute the milk. :rofl2:
