Well Normy and I have been hard at it pulling parts off a Fairmont squire.
We've been hanging around for days like vultures waiting for them to put it out in the yard for us to have at it.
Today we pulled a dash console and vacuum motor for me, and tomorrow a tilt steering column, maybe the clutch fan.
Normy gets the wiring harness and associated bits like the power door lock and windows, rear washer/wiper, roof rack.
We got some other bits off a Maverick and a Mustang; carb, air cleaner, vapour can, map light, visors with mirrors for the spousal units.
Happy like pigs in poop.

Andy, I'm not a mushy guy, but I haven't enjoyed working with anybody so much, like we did yesterday. Not a word, except 'where's the phillips?' or '1/4" drive?' Like two artists painting the same scenario. Complete silence and harmony. Man! We made music! :thumbs2:

I'm sure you guys scored tons of desirable parts. But I can understand Andy's joy with the tilt wheel score. I can't stand driving a car without a tilt wheel!:disagree:

I find if your going to pull a ton of parts from one car its sometimes cheaper to buy the whole car, tow it home bone it it out in the comfort of home. Not to mention you have all your tools there. Don't know what deal was worked out at the yard, just saying. I have also bought the car and boned it out on site like your doing.

Just got back from a boneyard run Friday morning. Scored lots of good stuff. Not all wagon stuff but still made some good scores.

Keep up the good fight. We need more guys out buying parts from the junkyards to keep all the old cars on the roads. Also if the owners of the yards see a financial benefit from saving old cars they will be less likely to scrap them out.

I agree, but we are short on space at home, and this car was definitely not something I'd want in my yard. And by the time you pay for the $60 for the one-way car haul you're starting to lose money.

Yesterday we got the column, all the power wiring and motors, some panels and trim and many odds and ends. $50. The chick at counter likes us. :D
    Or feels sorry for us...

You mean to tell me they have women in the junkyards up in Canada? Is nothing sacred?
