Thanks guys for all the encouraging words! I really appreciate yall keeping up with my restoration. (y)

Here's what went on today. All the sound deadener is installed. Also cleaned up the Spare wheel compartment. Geez, 35 years worth of Dirt, Grit, and Grime. It was Nasty to say the least. :( Gotta let it dry up so I can POR-15 the compartment and then spray some bedliner material. Once she's running I'll take her to a Pro and have some REAL bedliner sprayed in just for durability.

    Here are few Photos:

I got the spare wheel well POR-15'd and bedliner sprayed. Geez that was a beating. :cold: The fumes from that stuff are pretty over powering. I used a mask and did it in short spurts, but finally got it done. I also replaced the tailgate and cargo area floor board screws with new ones, talk about making a difference. I definitely recommend new hardware where possible. :yahoo: Everything is looking pretty clean now. :yahoo:

Also finished up the last steel wheel spare. I'll get the tire mounted this week and all placed in the new wheel well with jack and all.

Next is the headliner and carpet. After that the seats, but that may still be a while. Gotta save my :2cents: (centavos).

Looking better than a sound shop would ever do!

You must've used a lot of aluminum foil in your BBQ sessions! You ever wonder if you'll roast your buns sitting in sunny traffic? :biglaugh:

Nice work! That tire well is so clean! :thumbs2:

Thanks guys, I'll post some photos once everything is in place. I was impressed with how sticky that sound deadener was. It worked very well. She is definitely coming together. There are a few things still left to be done to finish up the interior, but I'll get there...one day. :bouncy:

    Looks great man.
I like the bedliner idea for the rear area of mine too. Hmmm.

Hey Guys, I've been a lil busy on other things lately, but last night I started working on the re-webbing of my seatbelts. I am trying to do all the leg work myself to save some money. The quote I got was gonna come out to be around $600.00. I ordered the seatbelt webbing and am doing all the cleaning, measuring, and using safety pins to hold everything together and once it all looks good I'll have the Pro's sew everything up.

I still have a few more belts to do, but I am going with just the Driver and Passenger side seatbelts (front and back) in the wagon and using the center seatbelts for the third row seat in the very back.

Here are few photos of what I have thus far:

I had to reset IE yesterday to fix an Add/Remove Programs issue, so whatever settings I had before got lost. So today, with your first link, I got the Kodak Gallery's blank page. The second link also did the same, so I went to kodakgallery.com and got the usual promotional stuff. Tried it again (your link, here) and got somebody else's gallery of a trip.

So I looked around for a way to find other 'gallery' books. No way! Nuked the IE History, and Cookies links, No way. Grrrr! :banghead3:

Anyway, mine didn't have rear seat belts (optional in Fairmonts in 1979, in Mexico) but all the floor holes were there, just plugged with rubber seals. So I took another set from a sedan (1982 Zephyr) and changed the buckles, which meant opening the threads and resewing. I used my wife's machine to make the holes (not sew), turning the wheel by hand (too thick for the motor), then used a curved 'sail' needle to sew them back together, after searing the cut ends with a hot knife to prevent them from fraying. Worked out great.

I'll try your link again later after I clean out the whole Browser cache and reboot. I think its just my machine's bad-hair day.:D

I think something is up with Kodak gallery because when I tested it earlier it worked fine, but now that I did it again I am getting the same blank page. Maybe a glitch at Kodak.

Well I have a master gallery at home on my home computer and I also have printed some and kept an album. Well actually I am working on my third album of photos of the restoration now.

I just tried the seatbelt link again and it showed me my previous link photos of the sound deadening install. Who knows, but I am guessing it's gotta be something having to do with Kodak.

Ah ha! Its a Kodak glitch alright!

I just tried your Post 221, with the unique ID number at the end, showing the sound deadener?. Then I went to your recent posts and got the same thing. It doesn't update the cookie.

    Hey Guys,
I ordered my new carpet and headliner today. I ordered it from www.stockinteriors.com. They shipped me free color swatch samples and I chose the Blue that most fits the original look I was going for. Hopefully I'll get them within the next 2 weeks or so.

I also dropped off my seat belts to have sewn. I am awaiting one seatbelt buckle that I needed to finish that task. The interior is coming together nicely though.

Photos to follow when I get my seat belts in and once my carpet / headliner is installed. :dancing:
