Hey Saf, I like the one in Lancaster, too! Sounds like it has some things to iron out, but wow is it nice looking. :thumbs2:
Glad you didn't go with the Malibu. When I heard that the air had been deep sixed, it lost all appeal to me. :slap:

Saf, you mentioned how your wife likes heated seats. Not sure if you are aware, but you can add electric heat to any seat.

We've been looking at heated seat kits for the '57. Turns out I sorta need it more than my wife. Since my health problem I've really struggled to drive for any distance. Half an hour at a crack and I'm usually done in. With the truck with the heated seats on I'm good for an hour and a bit. It makes a huge difference. So we've looked at various kits that would work and so far have found a few that would do nicely.

Adding the same to any of the wagons flushed out by you guys would be an excellent option.

So, turns out my sister has a "very close" friend (ahem, ahem) who lives in Chicago and quite willing to oversee a safety inspection on the 83 Bonnie so we are going to pursue that if it is still available. I was going to call today but we thrashed on the Chevelle again so it will now be a tomorrow call to find out if it is still for sale, what price I can actually get it for, and then to arrange for a safety check and if it is okay, then shipping, etc.

The 81, with the 400, is what I'd like, my significant other is partial to the 83. She sees the 81 as needing work the moment it arrives (and I'm saying Yeah, that's great, I can personalize it) and she figures I've got enough on my hands with the Chevelle, the Safari, and some stuff to do on the Airstream. But what the heck, I've fired an email off to the seller of the 81 and who knows, maybe that 83 is already sold , eh? Things like that happen.....:D;)

Well, it's a done deal. Of course although it is considered a wagon by motor vehicles in BC some would not think so even though it is 2 wheel drive, has a tail gate and roof rack, and is a riot to buzz around in. But we had one with a V8 conversion many years ago and it was a great kick around vehicle so when this one came up with confirmed 30,000 miles (49,000 KM's) on a 19 year old vehicle. in excellent shape in and out, and loaded except for leather and power seats and sun roof, and the wife really likes them, and it is "cute" according to her and the neighbours and the guys are the GM dealership where I picked up a piece of wheel well chrome for it today - well, we were forced to buy it.

Now I can refocus on getting the Chevelle done.........

Well, okay, but I'm not sure it "fits" so at least I still have the '57 to keep me legal here.

Found a 1991 s10 Blazer 2 door, 2 wheel drive, 30,000 miles (49,000 kilometers) all verified. Interior like brand new, literally, with an aftermarket stereo installed the right way so no butcher 3 days before we did the deal and the original radio all boxed up with the nuts and bolts etc. Had the ugly original wheels on it (IMHO at least) with almost brand new Pirelli tires on them so they are now in stock. It met here criteria - that it have a lift gate and tail gate, 2 wd and not in her opinion an SUV, 2 door, options she could appreciate including the most critical - A/C (menopausal thing I think:naughty:), and looked cool with mags on it. I happened to have a spare set of American Torque Thrust II"s in the attic so they went on within an hour of it coming home. Then a quick rub-out to clean it up on the outside but it needs a real wax job that will happen soon. 4.3L, 700R4, responsive and fun to drive but we've driven it for several days and the gas gauge hasn't moved down yet. I'm shocked. Everything else I have would need a refill by now.

Anyway, here's some pics just so you can see what swung the deal to this rather than an '83 Bonnie wagon that was #2 on the "love list".

Wow...that thing looks new, Saf. I like the 4.3 too. Good engine. Uhh...don't let the gas gauge fool you, while it will get better mileage than the Safari, it has the typical older GM gauge. Sits up around the 3/4 mark forever and then does a plunge.:D I AM impressed with the condition of that rig, for sure. As long as the wifey is happy it's a good buy.:yup: An even better buy considering the condition. Should last for many, many years.
