Where the heck do you keep them all, Tedy? I'd love to see pics of the Mustang rag top. I'm sure whenever you take your "boys" somewhere, they never know which car to get in. From your pics, I'll bet they always go to one of the longroofs! Can't blame them. I would too.

Yup, the boys always go to the wagons when I say "go for a ride?". they still go to the Crewzer first though. I guess they know it best. As for keeping them all I am luckey I have a garage at home and a barn on a farm thats about 10 minutes from home.

Since our PC crashed the only pics I have are ones I loaded in my gallery. All other cars are in the forums some where in some post(s) but who knows where.

My honeys Saffari van and my cargo in the back ground.....

and a not so good pic of the Stang in the dark in my gallery....

Cool car. You must just love expensive parts, though. Does your hubby work on your cars? Specifically, foreign cars? I'm not trying to be negative, Beth, but the cars you are choosing, while very nice cars, are expensive to work on and parts are way high priced. If you know this going in and are not bothered by that then, by all means, go for the one that is a good runner and in great shape. I think Krash Kadillac (or someone) had an Avant and could tell you more about them than I can. Hopefully, he may chime in about that car.

good points. i will mention that to hubby. hes been working on the vanagon and at one point spent an entire week to take the engine out and put a valve in or gasket or something, lol. hes not a mechanic, but he does know about working on cars. so far the parts for the vw havent been expensive though.

I had a 2000 Audi A6 Avant back in 2004 - 2005 before my Focus. Make sure the timing belt has been replaced. Those are excellent cars to drive, but maintanence can be very expensive. Having a mechanic that is familiar with the vehicle check it out before you buy is a must. Here's mine.....

One other thing...the third seat is a portable thing that just sits on top of the cargo area. It does not fold under the load floor. If you want to haul cargo, you have to take the whole seat out of the vehicle. I don't know how much it weighs. Mine didn't have one.......

like i said in another post, im mostly going to drive around during the week with my two littlest ones while the others are in school. we have the vanagon for hauling the whole family around. the only time i need a car for all the kids is over the summer and thats pretty much it. i dont want to get a full size car just for that. i need to get around to run errands etc during the week. soooo no i dont need a double decker focus.

btw the audi doesnt have the back seat. i did see a pic of one and it looks kinda shady. oh well. i would drive a vanagon if it was an automatic(y)

Easy to replicate. Get a 1977-1990 GM B-Body wagon throw some big wheels and tires on it. Lowering is optional. This is what it looked like when I bought it.

Unless the kids get car sick easy and the 3rd seat faces backwards. It's easier to find older minivans with 3 forward facing rows than it is to find 80s wagons with 3 forward facing rows. Might not be a common concern, but it sure brings back childhood memories for me. I think I rode in a rear facing 3rd row seat twice.
