ok guys...breathe...the wagon stays! but! my wife MAY be trading in her Focus for a '10 mercury milan (she doesnt like wagons or id've tried to get her into that mercury CP) but my stepmother works for a lincoln mercury dealer and we are able to get whats called "D" plan. so hopefully things will work out and we will have a car that is more comfortable. (remember...the wife and i are ...ummm..healthy) they milan actually has more backseat room than my b bodies. ....speaking of my B bodies. im gonna sell the caprice (i think $1500 is fair...thats what i have in her) and im looking at getting an older f150, what i want is : 1980-1996 with a 300ci straight 6 and a 5 speed, 2wd. those usually get great mpg (well...as far as a truck goes). the wife and i know now that we need a truck, no one we know has one! this includes relatives!
Good choice on the Milan. 4-cyl, V6 or hybrid? The hybrid is supposed to be very good.... Also - Ford has a 'Sport' version of the Fusion with a 3.5 V6 instead of the 3.0, in case you're interested. Don't think the Milan's got a version of that one.....
Oh Yeah, try a 65 250 inline 1 barrel 3 on the tree GMC truck, great mpg, slower than a transit bus, VW Bug, the kid on a bycicle off the line but great mpg New wheels are new wheels, congrats and I hope you find the truck your looking for
i always wanted to drive a 3 on-the-tree a ford with a 300 and 2wd should get 23-25 mpg hwy. as long as i don't drive like a nut! krash, what we are looking at is a 4cyl premier because my wife has to have that infernal SYNC system! we are gonna drive a 4 and if its too much of a dog we will look at a v6 ...the hybrid is waaay out of our price range. what i would like to put her in is a v6 awd but it too is expensive. they (the milan) start at 21k but the price can climb very quickly.
just got back from test driving a 1994 f150 xl 2wd 5 speed has a new clutch, new state insp, the truck has 114k on it. the only real rust is over the wheel wells in the rear and has been fixed...kinda half-assed, C/E light is on but the owner claims that is due to a bad IAC valve. the truck runs good. for 1500 i dunno sounds like a deal.
I've looked at the Milan/Taurus/500. I like it. Be thankful she isn't looking at KIAs. Edited to add: Since we're all wagon guys here, Does Mercury have a version of the Flex?
Good luck with the Milan. That D plan is a great deal; you're paying the same price an employee of Ford Motor Co pays, so it's a real savings. Sorry to see the long roof go, but I'm sure you'll find a good home for it.
yeah, im not allowed to get rid of the buick (that would be the longroof) for a host of reasons 1. its my baby, lots of blood sweat and tears in that car. 2. my friends and car club revolve around the b bodies. 3. its the only car that i can fit my wife, daughter, and all all the stuff we need into it safely, and beat a hastey retreat should anything happen around here. (not that i dont trust it... but i do live 20 miles from a nuclear plant..just a for instance) the shipwreck is not a long roof its a sedan. i am buying the f150 i looked at last night on monday. it runs good and i know the guy who did the state inspection on it and he said i am stealing it for $1500
phase 1 complete here is my wifes new car.... let me tell ya, its a 4 cyl and it surprised the hell out of me! it will keep up with a lot of 6's and our car payments are $10 per mo cheaper!!!!!
