I can't believe it happened so quick! 4 years ago, I bought a 1973 Plymouth wagons dealer brochure on Ebay. '73 Satellite 4-door sedan was my first car and I thought I would want to have one again, but a more useful wagon. (I fly RC planes and a sedan just wont do.) Anyway... I joined the forum, Stormin Norman said check Uncle Henry's and... sure enough there was a '72 with 39,000 miles, and a bunch of pictures. Car went on EBay the next week, and I won the auction, (bought the car) last night! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230452426386&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT Come on SUMMER! Michael.
Moral dilemma Yep she's pretty for sure. But... her whole value lies in the fact that she is so original. I want fender top directionals, copcar wheels, traction bars, probably a 318 or 340 Magnum from a '95ish Ram or maybe a crate hemi.... (wipes drool from chin and keyboard) I want to CHANGE IT! I even have a vintage copcar spotlight. When I think about running a drill bit through the a-pillar, I just know there are vintage purists who would take the drill out of my hands want to and use it on my head. Wheels and Traction bars can be removed but real changes... hmm.... Am I?
Hey, congrats - and you just shelled out your hard earned dollars so it is all yours. Do to it what you want. Some may prefer you leave it as stock but then again they didn't buy it, you did. Have at 'er. Make it your own. If you take something original off put it away for some time down the road but anything you do to it can be redone. That's my take on it. Neat car, looks to me like you are going flying before you ever get your planes out of the back.
I had those on my 63 Buick special. I liked them. They might be too much for the Cougar. The front is pretty busy now.
Thanks for the encouragement. you guyz are nutz. 40's and raining here, feels like the sun's out. Don'tcha just love to get a new car?
Congrats . Thats a nice looker, I'm happy for you. Don't forget to show us some fresh pics when you get her home
I think it would be a crime against humanity for you to irreparably change that all original Plymouth wagon. I don't think anyone should ever change anything about these vehicles ever! Next thing I know, you will be talking real heresy...wanting to turn your original, untouched Satellite 4-door wagon into a coupe! THIS MADNESS HAS TO STOP!!! Michael, put down the drill now! Get some help! David Oh, and by the way, congratulations on your lovely new wagon, and welcome to the forum.
Hah! Get some help. I already told my wife that the wagon costs far less than therapy and lasts longer too! (I don't think she bought that line.) But after all, she married me, and, when we met, I told her, "Look, I'm an original, as-is, don't think you can change me just because you own me, I mean....." ... Hey.... wait a minute.... why is she smiling...??
