I think this one should also be a tad larger so folks can see what is on the pic. Besides the wagons - the vehicle being used to tow the trailer - both very unique and supposedly a Bing Crosby vehicle. Can you imagine that set up coming down the highway? The picture was taken at the El Ranco Motor Hotel in Lethbridge Alberta about 1959 or 1960. Probably the last trip for the unique rig into Canada.

    You are soooo right, Fox.

Right now, playing on my computer in the background is a 1956 episode of Gunsmoke.

I live in the past, love everything from the past, and would time-travel if I could.

Gunsmoke and Perry Mason, '61 Lincoln Continentals, old tube radios, Philco Predicta TV's, Surfside 6, Bulova Accutrons, Fridgidaire Flairs, Airstreams, Wagonaires, Squire-anything, olds snapshots of the way the world used to look...these are the things I love.

Perhaps we are just a tad jaded, but we still think of America as the "Beautiful", the land of the free and brave. Just in a different way than it used to be. But we travel down the two lanes rather than the freeways mostly and we still see a lot of the OLD America the way our parents did. The small towns haven't changed a whole lot, particularly the ones who don't have a WalMart, Costco, Lowes or Home Despot on the outskirts thus killing the unique downtown. But really it is the people. They are still folksy, love the old cars and trailers and most of them have at least one to drive or at home only to them it isn't an old car, it is their car.

But it is sure disheartening to go anywhere big and see the greed, the need to tear down anything old and replace it with brick-ugly slabs, and the people who are so focused on themselves that they could care less about anyone else.

That all said, life is good. We can look back and remember stuff those folks don't even have the common sense to do.:whew:

So where are you getting access to the old TV shows? Got a website(s) you are willing to share?

I've been finding old radio shows on YouTube but you don't get much on them - some neat adverts and music, and the talk and jokes are funny, but they are so short............Anyone got any websites for the old radio shows like the Green Hornet, Hardy Boys, and the others that escape this foggy old mind?

Ha, I've been watching Perry Mason every day at 7pm.
About the only show I hate to miss.

I'm hooked on this new History Channel TV series 'Pawnstars', about a Las Vegas pawn shop and the dysfunctional family (old man - son - grandson) (and stupid friend of grandson) who are running it.

They will go to the extent of taking in something that may be a bit broken (whether it's a guitar or a car) fix it, then resell it.

One of last night's shows had a '61 (could have been a '62 - ?) Continental 4-door with a trashed interior. They put $15G into the interior, looked real good - pretty much stock. Then when you see them driving away in it they put those hideous 20" Dub wire wheels with low profile tires on it - RUINED IT!!!!

Of course, then the old man decided to keep the car. Even if they wern't original, I could think up way better rolling stock to put onto that vehicle than those ugly things they chose.

I know others may not like this but I am kind of a fan of those 20 and 22 inch wheels, and even the 24's and look forward to even bigger ones.

They make great fire rings when we go camping :D. 20 inches is about the smallest you want to go as you need to be able to burn logs that will last as while :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

They sold it on ebay! For big money. I see why people put these big ugly wheels on these Lincolns, because most of the time, they go for a lot more than a nice stock one does. Sad, but true...blingers with more money than good taste. :slap: At least these fine cars stay on the road.
