Think of those a visual interlude. ;) What a trip, though. I guess a guy could run a smooth jazz radio station online and use the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (standard program) in Slide viewing mode. You need road music to flip through them. :D Although I guess some old radio ads would do too. Except for Soap ads! ;)

Some postcards we found in my father in laws boxes and the one of the motel is a copy of a picture a local Lethbridge, Alberta retro-coffee shop has on their wall. It was owned by Bing Crosby I believe who used to come to Southern Alberta to hunt pheasant and this was his travel rig and sleeping accommodations while on the road. Sure wish I could find that unique vehicle and trailer.

The downtown pictures are in Lethbridge as well. The highway scene is west of Banff, AB heading in to British Columbia.

Hey yellerspirit, those two pics above are the same street scene, years apart. Any idea what town that is?

    David :)

(y)Saf57, I've done that Roger's Pass so many times, and it always takes my breath away. Majestic is the only word for it.

Oh man, look at that Woody (wagon you guys - forget about that OTHER post and get yourselves back on track here eh?)

We've always loved the trips through the mountains. Because our home town is in Albertie we do the trip often, varying between Hwy 1 and 3 and also I-90 just to keep it interesting. But I love the Roger's Pass area. The mountains are incredible. Still see a lot of older cars on the highways and byways, but not enough.

Hey Normy...I LIKE those old radio soap commercials. My mom used to listen to radio soap operas during the day while she did house work. Giving away my age here but....I remember Rinso, Super Suds & Oxydol for sure!:yup:

Thanks David, you should come see it in person. The picture doesn't do it justice, and what you see here is a miniscule part of that road.

Fox and Norman - strange how those old adverts stick in the mind. I too remember Borax adverts, and of course pop pop fizz fizz, oh what a relief it is sticks in my mind when ever my stomach is upset or I see food that I know is going to make me pay later.

I've been looking on YouTube for old radio shows and you get some of the adverts off of them - they are hilarious and so polite versus today's adverts.
