It's not a wagon, I figered I ought to post it here. (Although it does share the platform with the Falcon two door wagon) It's a 63 Ford Falcon Ranchero. Original V8 car. My Father-in-law bought it when he was 19. He's 52 now. It's been sitting for at least ten years now (why do I keep ending up with rigs that have sat for the last decade?) He's just happy someone is taking it and is going to drive it. It'll be a summer/good weather daily driver. It will share time with the truck and wagon. The Explorer will Summer in my parents field. It'll be a kick to drive, 260 V8 and four on the floor. I have lots of plans for it and the Father-in-law is going to help pay for the work. It's my lucky day!
Rite impression for sure Orth, That is soooo cool and looks real solid, good for you:2_thumbs_up_-_anima Very rare to begin with let alone with a factory V8/4spd
Oh buddy! Next to wagons, the 60-63 Rancheros are my favorites! You are one lucky dude! Your new Ranchero looks like it is in great condition...the wheels that are on it now are perfect! New ones will be even better !:2_thumbs_up_-_anima David
Tedy, the best part is that his wife has no choice but to let him bring it up to snuff (Play). She's kind of stuck between old man I and old man II.
Thanks Fellas. I'll keep you posted on the progress. It has the 260 V8. At some point there was quite a bit of work done to it. I have no idea of the particulars, but allegedly it is a screamer. It has an electric fan set up and some nice chrome pulleys and what not. The engine and compartment are gonna look slick with just a cleaning. I also got the four barrel intake (Edelebrock performer) and the four barrel carb. It's gonna be spicy. It was a factory three speed car. The Four speed apparently came from a Fairlane.
I was just gonna say....if thats a factory 4spd/260....its freekin rare....but you spoiled all my fun Orth....thats greaaat!!...welcome to the world of Falcons careful....they are highly addictive sure looks like its in good shape!! gonna be a hoot to drive ! come and get me....lets roll
Well, it looks great.... in the pictures. It "Looks" a lot better than it is. Still, that's what project cars are for. I'm purty dang excited. Came down to the chop Yesterday afternoon and got it running. It hadn't fired in years. All of the fuel was broke down and varnished. I put a new fuel pump in, new carb filter (Carb will be replaced with the four barrel) new fuel line from pump to carb. Then, the 'Ol "gas can under the hood" trick. Don't worry, I didn't take it out on the road like that.
These are the wheels that will be going on the Ranchito: http://aewheel.com/eagle_alloy_wheels.cfm?id=11
Nice Orth, you lucked out for sure. I don't see any rust on it; it looks about as solid as it can be. Best of luck with it.
Fellas. I got er home. Couldn't take it anymore. I'll get more work done on it here than at the shop anyway. Decided ta hell with the trailer and drove it. She gits up and goes. Already a screamer, can't imagine what it'll be like when we get the four barrel and headers on it. Couldn't resist taking a few pics when I got it home.
Dude! You are one lucky dog! Those two vehicles looks almost like they are from the same company...they go well together! David
