This all looks pretty much the same now.

I was there back last June, when I went to Fresno to pay for my wagon. I had rented a car, so decided to go to Sequoia Natonal Forest.
    Breathtakingly beautiful.

However, any cars you'd see there now are all mundane blobs and boxes, instead of these lovely and distinctive cars of the past.

    David :)

Gee, love what they've done with the place. :rofl2: Talk about a dead-end! :disagree:

Looks like a Ford dealership to the right, boarded up in the lower pic.

I love all of those '58 Ford wagon vacation pics, from the Hoover Dam, all the way to Disneyland. That must have been one great vacation!

Flora, Ill. For one week 1500 vehicle owners in Flora were given a Ford to drive. T-birds were 1960 models, while the Falcons and full size Fords were 61's. All were white. A couple more photos can be found in the book, Cars of the Sizzling 60's by the editors of Consumer Guide.

I was under 2 years old. My dad was on the engineering crew to build what we call a 'floodway' back in 1949 to 1951. I used to sleep in a special window crib under one window and my baby sister in the opposite one, in a 17 foot version of one of these same trailers! Go figure!!!

I actually do remember a lot of details back to when I was 18 months old. It embarrassed my mom, when I was 7 years old, and I told my grandparents about the time my mom tried smoking one of my dad's smokes when we lived in that trailer. Don't think she ever forgave me for that.:rofl2:

My late sister and her husband had a '58 Ford Convert. Deep almost candy blue. Similar colour interior with white trim and a white top. I loved that car. I'd forgotten about how much it brought back the good memories until I saw this one with the trailer. They used to follow the rest of us in Dad's wagon with the trailer in tow, and my sister and hubby slept in a very big tent that us younger kids were sometimes allowed to sleep in, and they went into the back of the wagon. Hey, now that I think about it, that was usually when it was raining:banghead3:

I have been looking at the pics of Rev's 58 and everything from the color to the style just hits a home run for me. Too bad I have so many things I need to be doing rather than out looking for a '58 wagon to add to the herd. As it is I was trying to grab a '69 Vista Cruiser that showed up locally on CL but the guy never got back to me. I figured it was well worth a grand. But man, every darned wagon you've shown on this thread has me thinking about adding one. I gotta quit looking, that's all there is to it. Well, maybe I'll just squint .

As for the 25 cent parking at Disney, I doubt you could even fart in the parking lot for less than 10 bucks today.
