Has anybody had experience reto-fitting a fold-down third seat to a non-third seat car? Anybody have leads on what's involved....parts for this...donor cars etc? Thanks in advance. sklein54@earthlink.net
It depends on the wagon... some are easy, some are a pain. Are you referring to the wagon in your info... a '71 Ford Country Squire? I think those dual facing rear seats are easy to put in those cars, but I am not 100% sure. I think I was once told this before.
No. I sold this one and am shopping for a "sportier" small wagon, like a v8 chevelle, torino, fairlane. Falcon, etc.
I see. Are you referring to this 72 Kingswood? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/chev...9267489QQsspagenameZRSSQ3aBQ3aSRCHQ3aUSQ3a101 I didnt see a 74 Bel-Air wagon on ebay.
i did it to our 65 Chev - acquired a "junk yard" seat and panels and it was an ez swap (i had to remove 1 spot welded bracket) i assume Ford are similar - go for it
the 'small' fords...never came with them....well....at least none that i have or had......only in LTds and such Falcons never...
You're right they're pretty straighforward. The Ford/Merc floorpans has rubber-capped self-tapping holes for the self-tapping bracket bolts. Can't recall who it was, but I posted some pics for a 1969-1971 Colony park 9 passenger setup. Sometime in July this year.
