Its not to far from you Rebel... you outta buy it! (y)

It is in extreme northeast TN. Its painful for a rare wagon to be that close (one that I never would dream would be around here) to be so close and not be able to buy it. Out of room and money. I have money tied up in FOUR cars - four BIG cars! :D

BTW - nice wagon you have there! I had a 1985 Caprice Estate that was the exact same color that I sold a couple of years ago. I sold it to a guy in Ohio... he said he was going to restore it, but afterwards, I had the feeling it was going to a derby! :(

Wow! You never see any of those.

Doesn't look too bad does it? I prefer the hidden headlamps of the 72s though. But this one is too good (and too rare) to be trashed.

I wish I could but I'm broke right now maybe in a few months I can get another a Plymouth or a Dodge wagon and do a Dukes Family wagon. Also my wife and I are trying to buy a house instead of moving.

That brings back memories! My best friend's dad had one of these and used to take us to the beach. It was a replacement for the mid 60's Polara they had prior. I still remember the plastic covers on the seats of that one.

I'd feel safer in that, than the political airbag models, and the price is probably closer to all the value of the work, tlc and parts, that went into it. Very nice. Won't pass many gas stations but very, very nice. :)

That is a stunning car! I remember seeing it for sale before somewhere and recall it was very high in price! I actually prefer the "low-back" seats that this car has, as opposed to the "high-back" seats on the 73'. I know alot of people like the sportier looking high-backs, but I never never liked high-backed seats. Some of the 73-74 Ford wagons were like that too. Some had the low-back seats, but "twin-lounge" high backed buckets were optional.

Looks like it has every option except power windows. Odd eh?

Even has the floor mounted cassette player and recorder. But that sunroof is even more rare in a wagon. Must have been something a dealership owner ordered for himself. Then again, he would probably just have ordered a Town & Country.

The only other reason I could see this being built would to be on display at the 1972 Autoshow in Detroit or NewYork.

It is odd. I have seen some oddly optioned early 70s cars though. They all seem to be differently optioned. This was something I discovered when I first bought my old 1972 Buick Electra. I noticed how differently optioned they all were, then I noticed how differently optioned most late 60s to mid 70s cars were... especially GM cars. I have a 1973 Pontiac Grand Ville 4dr. It has A/C, AM radio, power windows, power locks, tilt wheel, vinyl top, bumper gaurds/strips, lower door courtesy lights, side moldings and the custom interior option. I seen another that was identical in color, however, it did NOT have power windows, tilt wheel or vinyl top, which my car has, but it DID have cruise control, AM-FM radio, cornering lights, rear defog, automatic climate control, power trunk release and power seat - which were options which mine lack. It was pretty much had what mine lacked and mine had what it lacked. Back then, you just pretty much ordered what you wanted it seems.

My 72' Caprice Estate wagon the same way... I have seen them all so differently optioned. Mine has A/C, 3rd seat, AM radio, tilt wheel, 402 V8, luggage rack, custom wheel covers and driver-passenger remote mirrors. I almost bought another 72' Caprice Estate that did not have the 402 (It was a 400), did not have tilt either, but it did have cruise control and 8-track! I seen another that had everything but the 3rd seat. I think the oddest option Caprice wagon I have ever seen was a ragged out 72' Caprice Estate wagon that had NO options except power tailgate... now that was odd. It did not even have A/C! But the strangest wagon I have ever seen was a 1972 Buick Estate Wagon... absolutely NO options! NO A/C, NO tilt, NO cruise, NO power locks, NO power windows, NO luggage rack, NO 3rd seat, NO radio, NO side moldings, NO bumper gaurds, NOTHING! The invoice showed NO options. That was one plain Buick!

Oh, recently, there was a 1973 Buick Estate Wagon on ebay.... it was LOADED. It had the upgraded interior option as well. It also had the rare power sunroof option, as well as vinyl top!
